Pamster, I really like your stars but I can relate to your fuzziness frustrations! Lots of good advice above - and of course felt is inherent somewhat fuzzy but if you want reduced fuzz superfine merino is good - can end up looking a bit too flat though; just depends what effect you're after.

He is wonderful Anne! You have really captured the face. I really don't fancy trying to felt an animal as I'm sure they would come out looking not of this world, so well done you, lovely. Thanks everyone. Tracey, the face was 'rescued' with a smidgeon of judicious (and very simple) embroidery! Due to the Corriedale being so hairy I think, when I was fulling it quite a bit just pulled/slipped out, so I rescued an ear and the eyes with a few back stitches! I was was pleased to get a nice flat background as my two previous picture attempts had permanent wrinkles.

Glad you like Mr Fuzzy, Marilyn! Version one of your card was a winter view from my window but it came out much too bleak to make a card so I went the panda route instead. The 'bamboo' in the background uses Zed's leftover kebab technique.
I think Corriedale for the black was definitely too hairy against a superfine merino background but it's a learning curve ...and maybe it gives him a bit more charecter!

They are great! Penguin, how would you laser cut felt? Same way as you laser cut anything else...which is kinda like saying 'dunno!' All I know is you need a big, expensive machine. 😊 If you look at the pic where there are lots of tiny pieces in one sheet and she's pulling one out though, they look laser cut to me.

Well something certainly fuzzed my felt! 😂 I think the creativity was unimpaired but the practical skills to go with it might well have been affected! Feeling better now and with a brand new idea for Marilyn's card too ...so might try the smaller version and the new idea together when I get a chance.
Well done for being so organised with your card - I hope it works out and I'll keep an eye out for Ruth's post too. 😊

I think you've got all the bases covered Tracey! Good luck with the fair!

WOW! Just wow! It looks like she's laser cutting but even with that these would still take an age and a lot of skill!

Having an info sheet is a great idea - Before I got into this felting lark I was given a felted soap and was rather confused as to exactly what to do with it! :-)

This is really lovely - I might well have a go at it - I know someone who would love this and she might just get one for Christmas! Thanks for the tutorial!

Even though I feel like my head is exploding with a cold, I sat down yesterday to make Marilyn's card ... and indeed I did make ... something ... but while it's not going in the bin, it's also not suitable as a card. It didn't shrink as much as I expected and has too many layers and is a tad on the lumpy side, so it's back to the drawing board for me! The good news is I used some of Zed's 'left over kebab' technique in there and it worked beautifully - thanks for that Zed. The bad news is I can't show you yet as I plan do a similar but smaller version for Marilyn! :-) Although knowing me I'll end up doing something completely different! We'll see. I hope everyone else is having fun planning, making etc. for the exchange.

It really is - on the one hand I've learned a huge amount browsing ... on the other, I haven't put that much of it into practice!

Beautiful scarf Rowan - I love your colours. I would never have thought of combining the greenish colour with purple, but it looks great! If you're a soap maker too have you considered making felted soap? There's a good tutorial on Lyn and Annie's rosiepink blog ... but I haven't got the patience to make it. I've tried a couple of times and the wool just slides right off when I THINK I've got it all felted into place. :-)

Probably my mum, who was always dressmaking when I was little and had me 'embroidering' in simple running stitch at the age of about four or five. Without that inspiration I wonder if i'd have got into crafts at all. Now though, thanks to social media, inspiration comes from all sorts of people - on Pinterest, on this forum, on blogs ... trouble is there's so much inspirational material out there, I probably spend more time looking at it than felting.

Really beautiful! I'm sure the kitchen sink's in there somewhere but I can't see it 'cause everything blends together so well! ;-)
