Thanks ladies, I didn't expect to get people wanting to buy kits before I drew the winning name.

I remembered I'd bought some baby alpaca tops the order before last, so I made a sample yesterday. It's not quite as soft as the yak, but still very soft. It's weird how uniform the colour is though, it reminded me of a flat wet wig when I was felting it.

I’ve been working on the bark collage, and it is proving to be a huge challenge. I am adding hand embroidery, but it requires very careful handling so I don’t crunch the leaves as I’m turning the work and stitching. I will post a photo when finished!

I discovered some long forgotten black mohair tops today, I seemed to remember they didn't felt that great, but thought I'd give them another go. I just made a smallish sample, though the staple length was quite long. My first thought was I'd just made a felt merkin (nsfw if you google image it) it's kind of more like black hairy lace now it's dry.

Today is Thanksgiving Holiday in America and as I give thanks I want to include my new friends from the Felting and Fiber Studio. Most people are serving a lavish feast of Turkey with multiple side dishes which is the tradiditon here. My husband and I are non-traditional with the food and are having King Crab Legs. When it is just the two of us we splurge on one of our favorite foods.
I did a little baking today and am finishing up a scarf - going to wet it and rub it again - there is that small window when you can work it a little more before it gets harder than you want it. Hopefully, I will get it just right.

I agree France's. I'm thankful for all of our felting friends as well. My life is certainly richer with all of you in it!
Good for you Frances! We had a traditional turkey meal with my son and his family. My husband is a traditionalist and would probably never consider anything else. :-)

Ha ha, Judith!
I think I'm going to try and use it like a lace doilie, see if it will "nuno" felt.
I had crumpets for tea yesterday.

I've just told Peter about your 'merkin'. He's almost falling off his chair laughing.
