Ha! I don't know if it's common knowledge that people from Liverpool are called 'Scousers', but they have this reputation, mostly from the 70's of all having curly perms and moustaches. It was practically a requirement if you played for Liverpool FC. The mohair does look a lot like a curly perm, maybe I could do a footballer profile instead.

Your felt is a scouser's hairstyle as Ruth suggests - love the photo!
p.s. info for those across the pond - they're called scousers because liverpudlians used to eat a lot of scouse (a sort of stew).

Hello Zed and Lyn. You all put a giggle into my AM.. I love hearing about "British" traditions.... Big smile.. Lyn I would never guess that scouse would be like a stew... I am told there is an "Old English Christmas Custom" called " Thomasing" can anyone tell me about it?

Dec. 21st is St Thomas Day. "Thomasing" is begging from house to house on St. Thomas' Day, December 21. As far as I know it doesn't go on these days. Though in our town we have the "poor aud hoss" which is similar, though it happens on Christmas eve and no begging these days - just a fun thing. Incidentally "blind scouse" was stew without meat - hard times! Oops! pressed like instead of edit! calendarcustoms.com/articles/poor/

Being veggies we have blind scouse. I thought the word came from Danish fishermen using the port. We were watching a danish TV series not so long ago called Rita and one of the characters sounded so scouse, it suddenly made sense, but looked it up the other day and apparently 'scouse' is Scandinavian but mostly Norwegian. I'm convinced their accent is derived from Danes though, with a bit of Welsh and Irish to top it off
