well I finally did some felting and it turned out to be a long process achieving the look I wanted but a good learning experience. I posted the process and pictures under wet felting - feltandfiberstudio.proboards.com/thread/1834/ocean-bowl - I started on it Thursday and finished it Saturday. please give it a look and tell me what you think. really interested now into felting stones, shells, etc. into my work. Unusally cold for Florida here today so I was in the mood to do a little creative cooking and try out a new recipe. So between felting and cooking it has been a wonderfully creative day. Hard to believe it is November 1!

Frances the project turned out fine. Take advantage of the cool weather to create! I look forward to seeing more projects, too bad I can't taste the cooking. :-)

Just back from travels so will begin work today on my holiday card. I purchased some special embroidery threads during travels which I hope to use this week. For today, I will complete my sketch for the card.

Judy, I've never made felted cards before and when my exchange partner gets hers she'll post a picture. :-). It's like working in miniature.

I find working small very difficult and haven't started on postcard yet, as I'm busy sewing. I'm making a jacket and have spent the whole afternoon making 6 bound buttonholes! I think they're looking OK, so hopefully taking time over them has paid off. We'll see when/if all goes together!!

Judith, years and years ago I used to sew clothing for myself--some of it quite lovely and fashionable. I remember making bound buttonholes in a Chanel-style wool jacket and feeling so proud when it was done. Definitely worth the time! Please post photos.

Wow! sounds and looks like everyone is being very productive :-) I finally finished of the dreaded slippers that I have been working on. Will send them off to my friend with instructions on felting them on his feet to get a good fit, his wife is a massage therapist so I am sure she will have good strong hands to help get the final finish. And now I am making some more samples for the on-line class I am doing and also finishing of the holiday card. drying by janekiwi, on Flickr

Great slippers. I had a pair like that years ago, the curl made them feel strange when you walked around.
