Thanks for your lovely comments. As for the fair, I've just received a message that it is cancelled due to rainy weather forecast. There is another event next week, and hope the weather serves us better.

Love the pods, sheep and scarves, ladies! You all have been very busy. Sorry to say I have nothing to show for the past few days as I have been in a felt slump. Hope to break out today!

I love your pods, Marilyn. And your bag, Ann. I saw some new slippers after your scarves, Nada (very nice too)they reminded me of Lapis Lazuli mineral. I've been taking photos this week, here's a close up of bamboo top on black merino

My daily dose is sample I just completed using a hand-dyed silk hanky which I purchased at the MW Fiber Fair recently. I had never before used silk hankies, although I know many of you have done so. The edges did not dissolve--unsure why I expected them to do so. The white base is wet-felted domestic 56’s. Silk Hanky on White Wool by catwycliff, on Flickr

Hello Zed that bamboo sure is really has a strong curly look.
Hello Cathy that is what I like about silk hankies is the pretty edge they give you. That sample is very pretty.

Thanks everyone for the kind words about the pods.
Nada, I'm so sorry to hear about the fair. I hope they have a "rain" date for you. You've worked so hard to prepare. :-(
Zed, the bamboo is very striking. I'm amazed the texture you got in merino.
Cathy, the hankie looks good. You can always scrunch it to make flower or stretch it to give a whole piece some shine and texture. Since silk doesn't felt, the edges remain solid and don't melt into the felt but give it texture. Experiment, it's fun. :-)

Ok, thanks, Judy and Marilyn. It is fun trying new things! It seems I have seen these hankies on pods and other felt pieces where the hanky fades into the object. Maybe it was the contrast between the bright silk and the plain white base. More samples to come!

Zed, very interesting texture with bamboo and black merino! Cathy, isn't it fun playing with hankies and dyeing them? They always give very attractive results.

What a load of lovely things! Ann, I love your sheep and your bag. Marilyn, the pods turned out great with the top decoration. Nada, the scarves are pretty (especially the blue!). Zed, what texture! Your photos are great btw. Cathy, silk hankies are great - pretty sample.

Thanks, ladies! It was surprisingly easy to use the silk hankies. Has anyone discovered an innovative way to use them?
Lyn, if this is the “longest forum thread,” do I win a prize for starting it? heh heh

This week I've completed the Monet, made a couple of samples for a class, more business cards and made a domestic 56 prefelt for my next experiment.

Youtube keeps spinning for me today, so I didn't see all of that, but what I did looked nice. Some of it looked more like silk laps. I like to pull hankies apart to make roving Roving from silk hankies by zedster01, on Flickr a piece I made a few years ago, I was so disappointed that the roving flipped at the bottom ruined by zedster01, on Flickr I know I used them with wool for twists, I think this is one: Teal close up by zedster01, on Flickr

I really should wear a pelican bib before I look at those photos again Zed. I've got dribble in my keyboard. Such beautiful combos!
