then I woke up this morning thinking I wonder is it possible to add a machine embroidery to a felted pod and here is my first experiment

Having had a go at making baby booties I decided to have a go at making pods, and they have become quite addictive The first five are merino, silk, embroidery and beading, I used a round template some small and some larger just to experiment

what a great idea, and the knitted fabric presumably give grip to the felt :-)

what a great idea to use batting, I've run out of pre felt and did think of batting, then I thought I've never seen anyone else use it so maybe it doesn't work - voila it does, thanks :-)

I like the sand idea to weight it down, Marilyn these vases are wonderful and so tall.

The details on the vessel are gorgeous, the white with the blue accents is wonderful, I particularly like how you have cut back and stitched, as well as the beading of course (I'm a huge beader), did you make it one piece or two? I was making little pods yesterday out of Ashford merino and silk on white merino, and they are little, made them in a oner on a circle template. Today I plan to finish them, but I am so far away from potential lessons that I have to make it up as I go along - which is fun too, but seeing your work is an inspiration. I made two 'square like' vessels very strange, funnily enough the wool I used was a white merino base and blueberry tweed which is basically white with flecks of blue.

I've been completely distracted with a piece of wet felting that I didn't like, so I cut it up and put it back together again in a different form, and I still didn't like it... so I decided to cut out heart shapes and work each one up separately Here is one of my experiments Attachment Deleted

thank you Lyn, that's really helpful, I still think I'm doing something wrong, if I want to start a thread, for example under wet felting and put up work - as I will be the one starting the thread when I press pictures it asks for a https address - that's when I get muddled - to be fair I am often muddled :-)

I tried that yesterday, but it wanted a https// address for the photo's so maybe I have to upload them somewhere and then import them, I tried importing them from my facebook page but that wasn't working either - do you any tips as I worked it out once but can't remember the process :-)

I have another finished, but I didn't want to heart bomb this thread!!! so maybe when they are all done I'll put them up - they are addictive, so small but detailed, the pink fabric isn't silk (if only *sigh*) and thank you for you lovely comments you've given me energy to keep going with them :-)

This isn't Jackson Pollock inspired it's Lyn inspired me, I cut up a piece of felt work that has been hanging around for years, I've never liked it, so I chopped it up, re arranged the slices and stitched back together, then cut out hearts and needled them onto another happy mistake piece, now I'm challenging my self to make each heart into a scene, a scene that comes out of the magic of the colours, so this first one I've called Sun Shine On.... feltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/hearts.jpgfiles.wordpress.com/2016/09/ggzrmia1_yyp1w5flbu3.jpg
