I really like your felted piece and the woman is ethereal. There is a lot of swirling movement and the colours are great.
If I'd only seen the second photo, then I would have thought that it was a lovely abstract colourful piece of work, but because I've seen the first photo, I think the paint hides the beauty of the original.

Thank you, it was fun to use Pollock techniques,I've made a little video (that was a first too), I'll try to put it up later, even my hubby got inspired and made this poster

The colors in your felt piece are simply beautiful, and I do feel the movement in the piece. I can understand the addition of the paint splatters to achieve a piece which is perhaps more "Pollack-like," but the felter in me prefers the unadulterated version. Hope to see more of your work in the future! Kudos on being first to post in the 1st Quarter Challenge!

thank you, yes I know what you mean, it was a hard thing for me to do, but I'm glad I went for it, I can always make more felted pieces, I had to get going with this as I am off for a few weeks seeing my new granddaughter in Edinburgh and I am a bit of a spontaneous maker of felt so the urge took over :-) I have a piece that I made a few weeks back, she is also moon woman, but she is a finished, a stitched and beaded piece, and I won't be splattering paint on her

I like both of them. the unpainted one has energy but the second one seems to have more energy. The video was good and looks like fun. I liked the musical accompaniment as well. The last piece I very nice. The stitching give it energy the way the paint did on the other one. the last one makes me thin of the moon reflected in a pond.

Excellent job on the two pieces and video! I like the first piece, but I think the paint really added the Pollack touch on it. It sure looked like fun! The poster is great, too! Have fun with your new granddaughter.

The stitched and beaded piece is amazing, especially for me the spider web effect.

Great entry for the challenge. You were very brave with the paint. I like hubby's contribution as well. The moon piece is gorgeous too.

A huge thank you for your wonderful comments and encouragement, and can I share today's joy, it's hard for me to get felting wools and silks in Bulgaria (where I currently live) so I have placed an order with Scottish fibres for felting stuff including silk carriers rods and silk cocoons ( without the grub!!!) don't know what I'm going to do with them also alpaca and tussah silk, my usual merino wools, wensdale locks, blueberry tweed and silk rovings - my long awaited Christmas pressie...... whooooo, if anyone has any idea on what to do with the rods and the cocoons I'd love to hear as I've never used them before.

You must have had fun splashing colour on your wool, nice outcome! Personally, I prefer your moon woman. Stitching and felt is a wonderful combination. As for your dilemma what to do with cocoons - there is a video showing how you can make your own silk hankies www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_OpFgQ4HTk. Looks very easy and I wish I had some to try myself. How much did you pay for them? I've seen them in the Wollknoll catalogue (10 pieces cost 1.25 EUR) I am looking for a more favourable price. Silk rods have so many potentials. I soaked mine in cold water and stretched them, even split them in two layers and put on wool. Next time I am going to order raw (white) colour and will try to dye them myself.
