Ok I do understand now. I have noticed the difference with different wools. I will try more felt bags using different wools, to understand how each perform.

i'm still new to the forum. i was trying to start a new thread in the wet felting section, but had a problem so i will post here. remember the little felt bags i showed you back in Oct. over time they seem to show a little pilling...is there anything i can do about this, or is it something i should expect?

Thanks everyone. I was actually scheduled to take a felting class tomorrow, but due to hurricane SAndymit was postponed. Believe it or not, I have seen many tutorials on line and they ate great, but I thought it also be great if I can take something locally. I have actually been buying much of my roving on-line, and more recently at a wool festival which was great. Amin thanks for all the positive feedback.

Hi Karen, perhaps I was not clear. Sorry. My wet felting is excluding fabric. I have not learned that technique yet. I'm still pretty new to felting, so one day at a time. Yes I love the little cell phone holders. I have been looking at your blogs and I love all the beautiful work from everyone. Do you know any felters who teach in the New York City area?

Zed, yes it's called merino top and I am not using fabric. I have not attempted fabric yet, so right now I'm just doing wet felting. Perhaps I'm not turning it enough. I will give it another try when my power comes back on. What is a rubber shelf liner?
The merino top I purchased is from paradise fiber. If u know of a better source let me know.

Sandy was not so kind to our area. I have been home since SUnday evening. The winds came through very strong, and many trees came down. The power has been out since Sunday evening. At least we have water this time. The good thing about times like now is that it brings all the neighbors together. Last night I sat by candlelight at my neighbors house while she cooked lots of the food that she did not want to spoil. I entertained her kids, while she cooked. I heard we maybe without power for another 2-3 days. During the daylight I spend time working on my felt projects so this will be productive for me.

I'm new to the felting forum so I hope you don't mind my numerous questions. I have been felting with merino recently, and one thing I noticed is the fiber does not felt as well as the other wools. Sometimes I have to go back when I think it's finish and felt more. What is the key to perfecting my felting with merino. My wet felting is with fabric, at this point. Thanks
