I just spoke with my sister in Richmond, VA. Hopefully, she will get only the very southern portion of the storm but she is working on getting things ready for a power outage. I'm safe here in Montana as we don't seem to get too many hurricanes. But I hope everyone else stays safe.

We are supposed to get a mild dose here. We have fuel for generators and lanterns and food in the freezer. We shouldn't get much rain or wind compared to other places but it may take out our power anyway. I hope everyone is prepared and rides it out without problems.

Watching CNN it always annoys me the people who appear to have the IQ of a doormat that go down to the shoreline to see it coming, don't they realize they put the emergency responders lives at risk when they need rescuing, we get them here when there is a Tsumani warning, they head to the beach. Have many friends statside who are in the path of this monster, Ruth glad you are not affected directly.

They said on the news this morning after the winds reach 60 miles an hour they will no longer send rescue people into the evacuation areas.

We came through the night with out much trouble. The power went of on our road about 2:30 and came back on at 8:30. so that's not to bad. We are supposed to get more today but the wind at ground level has slowed down. The clouds are really moving though. We watched New York and area on TV and computer last night. They where hit really hard.

Sandy was not so kind to our area. I have been home since SUnday evening. The winds came through very strong, and many trees came down. The power has been out since Sunday evening. At least we have water this time. The good thing about times like now is that it brings all the neighbors together. Last night I sat by candlelight at my neighbors house while she cooked lots of the food that she did not want to spoil. I entertained her kids, while she cooked. I heard we maybe without power for another 2-3 days. During the daylight I spend time working on my felt projects so this will be productive for me.

Wow Josie where are you that it took your power out on Sunday. I hope it comes back on soon. we went through 10 days without power with the ice storm but looking back it's the coming together we remember not all the trees down and the extra work. As long as everyone is safe things will be fine.

Looking at some of the photos coming out today, there are areas that look like after the Japanese tsunami. I wonder if there'll be any craft sale charities we could contribute to to help out.

I'm sure they'll be having some type of fundraiser. The devastation in New Jersey and New York alone is supposed to be in the billions of dollars worth. It's weird to see the water in the subways - I was just there in June and it's hard to imagine. Plus the number of people affected is really high because so many people live in that very small Manhattan area.
And the storm was so big and it is still going, just more inland now with less power.
