I'm new to the felting forum so I hope you don't mind my numerous questions. I have been felting with merino recently, and one thing I noticed is the fiber does not felt as well as the other wools. Sometimes I have to go back when I think it's finish and felt more. What is the key to perfecting my felting with merino. My wet felting is with fabric, at this point. Thanks

Are you sure it's merino, josie? Merino is one of the easiest wools to felt. Do you mean you use fabric to cover your wet felting? maybe it's a bit thick and stopping some friction. I mostly use merino, and when I felt it, I rub a lot and flip it over often. If you roll it up in a rubber shelf liner, that can help finish it off well, get it tightly felted/fulled. This is me felting youtu.be/aTi_2PAqVjMYour phone holder looks really nice

Welcome Josie! Glad you joined us. If you post your questions in the wet felting section you might get more answers there. All merinos are not the same. I have used some that were labeled merino that didn't felt all that well. Others felt like a dream. Where did you get your wool? You might try a different source and see if that works better for you.

Zed, yes it's called merino top and I am not using fabric. I have not attempted fabric yet, so right now I'm just doing wet felting. Perhaps I'm not turning it enough. I will give it another try when my power comes back on. What is a rubber shelf liner?
The merino top I purchased is from paradise fiber. If u know of a better source let me know.
