Nice, stash, Zed! Still don’t know which one is botany waste?
Ruth--good thing I didn’t try the Lutradur, hey, thinking it was something else?
Nadia, best of luck with the concert! I am impressed with all of your talents.

Zed perhaps it has changed. I haven't looked at it in a couple of years.

Zed I am drooling, I just want to pick it up and tease it out, it looks so soft - have you any thoughts on what you will make, at a class I ran recently one woman made a pod stone out of natural looking fibres - it was quite a work of art and stone-like, can't wait to see what you do with it.

Cathy, it's all the Botany waste. It's wool/fibre from the end of a run on the blending machine. Some of it is neat, some a bit tatty.
I'm going to stick to smallish flat pieces, Carole. I think it's the first time they've done this event, and there won't be easy access to water (someone with a bucket or two getting fresh and emptying the old). I thought it would be easier to run about 3 classes of maybe 6 people each, but I'm picturing the kind of event where people mill around and want to try as many things as possible, so I'm going to be prepared for that too. I still have no idea what the tables, layout etc will be, all I know is I'll be in the textile gallery. Hopefully not near the outside door!
The only thing that is definite, is that I'll take all my fibres, they have the same ones in their gallery, so it fits in nicely.

These days I began to work on pods. My husband's brother is getting married this summer, so I prepared this one with the colors of their invitation. The technique (always embellisher and washing machine) need to be improve to be more "seamless" but I already like the result.

Zed, never before realized waste could look that good!
Aphee, what a wonderful idea for the soon-to-be married couple. The neutrals look great with all that texture. So your pod is not wet-felted in the traditional way? Embellishing machine along with machine washing?

Same question as Cathy: what technique is that? The pod looks wonderful!

Thanks a lot ladies !! First I made the main part : - I completely felted a white back (embellisher + washing machine) - I inserted with the embellisher a batt made with vegetal and animal fibers in natural colors (I will make it thiner at the edges next time) - I added the lace pieces at the embellisher - I put it at the washing machine
- I embroidered with the sewing machine the names and the date : - I had a felted circular bottom. For the moment I'm not satisfied with the seam I did with the embellisher + a wool thread + washing machine for this narrow pod. Maybe I will use needle felting + wasing machine or wet felting I'm still thinking about it.
