Aphee, I have just bought an embellisher and I am playing with it, trying out different ideas. I am so impressed with how you have used it. Here is a play piece I've used the embellisher on, I made a wet felted background first, then embellished, but today I'm going to try out your idea and see what happens :-) feltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/10/utlwjhgegf7msf_vsiey.jpgAttachments:

My daily dose yesterday was going through more of my WoW order. I've seen their pencil roving on offer before, and considered getting some, then spotted pencil roving waste, right at the end: www.worldofwool.co.uk/products.php?utm_campaign=&cat=36&pg=2I didn't get many colours at all, a black which was all in one length, white which had some short bits and some all in one length, a few little 6 inch scraps and some chopped lengths of green and red. Not bad really and cheaper than the balls.

Thank you for your lovely comments, I am having fun with this new machine. Well yesterdays experiment turned into one horrible mess, I used the needle felting machine and needle felted rovings into a cotton, then layered ripped up bits of scarf with sparkle in it, then added more felt - happily needle felting and feeling pleased with the new fabric I was making, I then decided to put it in cool wash and this came out!!! not really what I had planned, but I thought it would give you a giggle feltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/10/m2hrsjaprt46cfjhodcd.jpgAttachments:

looks like great texture to me but I take you were not looking for that? You were trying for a smooth flat piece?

I think it will make a great background for something - nice texture.

I usually try to have enough animal fibers to make the felt easier (and it's much easier well mixed in a batt)

Wow, thank you for your lovely comments, now I feel I must move it on to become something, I was hoping it would stay flatish :-) but hey ho - I'm always up for challenge :-)
