I was thinking about the large furniture floor stones, I've checked the link Lyn and that's exactly what I was thinking about - they do look like a lot of hard work - one for the back burner :-)

Has anyone ever had a go at those large felted floor stones? how would go about making one? I'm wondering if there are any shortcuts to the felting process?

I've just donated quite a bit of furniture and electrical goods to a second-hand shop, and in the van, I saw a singer sewing machine set into a table (electric machine) but an old machine - mint condition, so I have contacted the shop to put my name on it after it has been electrically checked but I haven't a clue how much these things are - does anyone have an idea?

I love it, so spring-like, and lots of defining detail, really cheered me as I look out at the snow :-)

Yes to Tracey's ideas Ann,if you decide to add more detail you could include a shepherds hut and some trees, though I like it the way it is, loving the sheep those curls make me think of my bathroom floor after I have groomed and shaved my two bichons, those tight little curls are gorgeous, now you have inspired me with what I can do with them :-)

What a great idea for oven mitts, I've been making soup bowl holders for the microwave to stop burning my hands (they are fabric not felt, the inner bit is cotton wadding, maybe you could make them too with felt.

I use circular needles for socks and they a short loop between them, but I actually use two sets, I learned from the sock book - 'from the toe up', I have also tried the DPN's double pointed needles and they are a lot easier than they look, but my preference is for circular, good luck:-) keen to see what you make - if its a hat some people use those circular knitting hoops

I wonder if other papers would work too, I love both of your pieces Karen your Hockney inspired picture must have taken quite some time to complete.
