I've made a new picture for my own room - I wanted one that would be 'bright, sharp and minimal' and this is what I ended up with. Funny how I keep coming back to fishes isn't it? What does that say about me?

Love your piece and the colors Lyn. What does it say about you? You seem to be quite a balanced person. There is no dominant color in your piece. The color blue is one of trust, responsibility, honesty and loyalty. It is sincere, reserved and quiet, and doesn't like to make a fuss or draw attention. It hates confrontation, and likes to do things in its own way.The color indigo is the color of intuition and perception and is helpful in opening the third eye. It promotes deep concentration during times of introspection and meditation, helping you achieve deeper levels of consciousness. The color turquoise helps to open the lines of communication between the heart and the spoken word. It presents as a friendly and happy color enjoying life. Yellow is creative from a mental aspect, the color of new ideas, helping us to find new ways of doing things. It is the practical thinker, not the dreamer The color orange radiates warmth and happiness, combining the physical energy and stimulation of red with the cheerfulness of yellow. Does it sound like you?

What a fun piece Lyn! I see the fish but it doesn't have to be about fish either.

I am a practical person and I always try to find the bright/happy side of situations.

That is really great Lyn, I love the clean sharpness of the colours. Tracey - Further to our discussion in Daily Dose about photography, I did manage to achieve a photo that is a perfect representation of 'Shoal of Fish' ... but I am not prepared to admit how many different days I tried or how many photos I took or how many hours I spent on so doing. (It's definitely easier to photograph fibres that are fulled than it is to photograph loose fibres.)

They are great Lyn. I like how they combine, the colours and the clean lines. The way you trimmed it makes it pop out more.

Lyn, I love this piece. Would you share the process for this please?

It's made upside down Pamster. The shapes are cut from firm pre-felt and arranged onto the flat side of bubble-wrap. Two layers of fibres are placed on top of the shapes then felted together. When dry, iron-on interfacing is attached before free motion stitching then the surplus background felt is cut away. It's then stitched to a stretched canvas painted with acrylic paint.

I enjoyed working it all out Marilyn! Felting is certainly more fun with experimentation.

Wow, Lyn, I love this piece. Beautiful composition and perfect colour combination. Very neat. Did you make preffelt yourself?
