Lyn, I would be happy to post to the challenge. I was just reading the guidelines yesterday but did not realize this work was appropriate. THanks

Sure, I will share the metal work when it's finished and I'm able to put the 2 together. Stay tuned! Josie

lomahfelt - thanks for your feedback. My feeling for this piece is like an "underwater city". It may not look like a city but that's my theme. It's the first time making a piece like this so that's why it's such a challenge to figure out how I want to hang it. My cousin who does metalwork is making a piece using a 6 gauge wire with similar color feel. I still have not decided if it will work for this piece or if I should hang it flat using some of the ideas shared with me by Ruth. I guess the asymmetrical tabs would be unexpected. I still might want to mount it to something to give it more stability even if I hang with the piece my cousin is making. I'm going to the art store next week to see if anything interest me.

Thanks everyone for feedback! Antje - yes I'm stitching squares together as I go along looping into the previous block when I start a new one. Lyn- my squares are knitted pretty even from the start and all are knit the same. My knitting is generally pretty consistent but not perfect. Not all squares line up.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I do have more handstitching and beads to add but not too much more. The loops at top are not permanently fixed yet. I was hoping to get more feedback from you as I have not hung a felt project before. Agree with Ann that the loops would.look best if evenly spaced. A friend also told.me she felt hanging would look too crafty. Do you agree? Ruth also sent me the link for how to finish work for hanging. Thanks again!

Thanks Ruth and Pamster. I really do enjoy having a portable project like this to work on.

photos.app.goo.gl/YP62usBfm7KyMx4Q7Hello everyone, I wanted to share with you a project I've been working on since March. I started using excess yarns from other projects, then added a few new. Along the way, other knitters started giving me their excess. Not sure if this will be a simple lap quilt or larger than that. It's a good project to take on the road when I'm waiting for an appointment, or even on those long drives. I try to make 1 or 2 a day in the morning/before I retire at night, but sometimes I don't get to make any squares. The current blanket now contains a little over 100 squares. Hope you like it. I hope sending the photo works as I have been having some problems on my end. thanks Josie

I joined the forum originally as I was a new felter who wanted to be part of the community. I enjoyed being able to ask questions and get good feedback; sharing my work and getting constructive feedback and the wealth of information I could find here. While I don’t come into the forum often enough I still think it’s a good place for Felter’s and would hate to see it go away.. I do find that I comment more on Facebook than on the forum currently, and I’m also more involved in other felting groups on Facebook. I’m also very active on Instagram. With all the newer social media sites available I think it’s just harder for me to navigate so many so I tend to focus on the ones I use more. The one things these other sites don’t have is the history you have compiled on the forum. Sometimes I come in to look for something and go on my way. It’s like a felter’s/fiber artist dictionary and I don’t see Facebook this way.

Hello everyone,
For those who dye fiber, where do you buy your wool fiber? Is RH Wool a good supplier for wool used in dyeing?
thanks Josie
