My room rarely looks like that For so long I had everything in my bedroom, crammed in just a few tubs, but that made more mess having to get everything out to find something at the bottom. And carrying very large woolly layouts down the stairs to felt is not easy! I used to use the draining board/counter top for felting until I got my table with fold down sides, now I drag it into the kitchen or outside and put a shower curtain on top.

Six years ago I treated myself to a Herman Miller ergonomic chair, and it has proven to be a worthwhile purchase, although a bit pricey. i began teaching on-line that year and knew I would be spending long hours on computer sitting down. That was way before I started felting. I no longer teach classes on-line, but it’s great for my needle-felting projects.
P.S. Marilyn, you can test it out when you visit me!

Ok, so here is my felting space, very long kitchen counter with room for one very long project or several smaller projects. Just the right height. Two windows allow natural light. Kitchen sink to immediate left. Left of that, microwave for heating olive soap water. How nice it must be to have such a large kitchen - that is an ideal counter - with a sink next to it

Yes, the kitchen is terrific! Truly meant for wet felting, or cooking, I suppose. ;-))

Give me a couple of days and I might be able to make my workspace camera friendly! Not today though, the sun is shining, I have a coffee date with a friend and the garden is beckoning me to finish the autumn tidy up.

I just wrote a blog post about the current state of my studio so if you'd like to see more photos, take a look. It's a huge mess but since I usually have it looking more like this then a clean state, I thought I'd show it how it really is. I can never seem to keep it neat and tidy for very long.

Being tidy doesn't suit everyone and as you are able to produce a high volume of lovely work from this studio, then it obviously works for you. Wonderful view from your window!
As it's said, 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'.

Ruth you are surrounded by so many things in your work space that I would be distracted by all the different possibilities for projects and never finish anything - the view from your window is lovely.

Hello everyone, somehow I missed your wonderful photos of your workspace Zed. You are very organized indeed. Things get messy when I am working on a project but when it is done I need to put things away before I get things out for the next one.. That is just the way I am........I reckon we all have a our different ways.... But I reckon everyone created the most beautiful creations not matter what our rooms look like... Oh, BTW, I had a Herman Miller chair in my nursing office and loved it very much. It was very very comfy on my back. But I could never justify the cost for one at home.

Thanks Lyn - I do tidy up the room most times but every 3 months or so, it gets like this. So I guess I'm do for a clean up. I'll post a follow up photo. Frances - yes, distraction is very easy in my room. I do need more storage space for sure but our house is only so big. So I soldier on
