wow 17 pairs is quit a lot. Your friends and family must all have nice warm feet now. The mitts and wreath look really nice. Fingerless mitts seems like all I have been doing lately. I have one special pair to make for my daughter and then I will not make another pair for a while.

I agree that 17 pair of slippers is an amazing feat (sorry) - great work.

Ruth, It may sound a lot but I started as early as summer this year and made the last pair for my grand daughter last week. Here is a photo. I had lots of problems here. I started felting with a resist but then during shaping I was working by hand, without a last It was very difficult to make a proper shape. I don't know if they will fit (will see after Christmas when she receives her present). Does anybody know where I could buy children-size lasts? They have them in Wollknoll (Germany) but sell only adult sizes, the smallest size being 35.

Can't help with the lasts question, but I wanted to say that I think the slippers are very pretty.

Great slippers. I am no help on where to get lasts either. They are hard to find. You can make them yourself by using sock over the persons feet and them covering it in duct tape. Cut carefully down the back to get the persons foot out then tape it closed. You can stuff them or fill with the low expanding spray foam to make them hard. The problem with kids is their feet grow so fast.

I'm sure your granddaughter will love them. They are really cute. I hope they'll fit at least for a while. :-)

I seem to remember many discussions about expensive lasts over the years. Ann's foam idea sounds great, you used that foam for hat lasts, didn't you, Judith? Maybe a sock or cheap slipper could be used to keep shape? The slippers are great, Halay
