https://www.instagram.com/p/CHUqO_vFYA- Here’s my first decoration. I’m intending to add a loop to hang it on the tree. Took way too long to make as I only had one needle with me & I’m not the best needle felter. I enjoyed making it but I think it might be a one-off!

That’s fab Lindsay, the colour and shaping is spot on! I know what you mean about it being so time consuming, I sometimes wonder why I don’t take up a craft with faster results but just love felting too much!

Yes, I agree completely about felt-making: very time consuming but utterly irresistible.

Lindsay, the pie looks edible - right down to the sugar dusting! Wonderful needle felting!

What a great mince pie. Much better than the real thing.

What a perfect little pie. I can understand the concept of a one off. I usually have these grandiose ideas that I will make multiple items to give as gifts, then I make one and change my mind.

Thank you, Lyn. Lovely feedback.
I’m now getting requests to buy them but it took so long to make I don’t think that will be an option. I did make a bite-size one today but even that took a couple of hours so I doubt I will have enough time or be able to charge enough to make it worthwhile.
I have some other decorations that are nearly finished that I will be able to sell, if shops reopen in early December. If not, they will go on my tree.

Thank you, Ruth. Yes, I like to make a thing and if I enjoy it it doesn’t really matter how long it takes. Going into production to sell or give is an entirely different question. Not nearly so much fun.

Sometimes you've just got to make something good and not worry how long it takes. Enjoy the process and enjoy the item.
BUT when someone sees it and then asks you to make one for them ... be strong ... say no ... explain why they couldn't afford it.

He's lovely Ruth! Makes me smile. I prefer hand-made tree ornaments to store-bought ones and it's a delight every year when you unpack the Christmas box to see them all again with fresh eyes.

I agree Lyn, hand made ornaments are my favorite too.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CHqke86l5Ak I’m making quite a few different types of decorations this year. I got some lovely soft tiny locks a couple of weeks ago so I’ve turned some into beards.
