I have had both Phizer vaccine shots. Most of my friends are in the process of getting theirs. Then we are allowed to meet in small groups in each other's homes. I am so looking forward to this. Of course, loads of people aren't following any instructions and refuse to get the vaccine. Idiots!!
Still wearing a mask whenever I go to the store etc. But it definitely feels like we are moving forward.

I've had my first jab - Annie hasn't yet as she is way down the list because of age and health.
Lockdown in UK easing in stages starting with children going back to school - but all eyes are on the numbers to see if they go up again.
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland may have different dates, but as from April 12th in England businesses can re-open with usual masks, sanitiser and social distancing.
Outdoor socialising will be permitted from 17th May and by 21st June we should be back to near normal.
However, these dates may change - depends on the numbers.

Hi, Ann, yes it has been a long year and felting and fibre friends have helped me a great deal. We are half-open right now. restaurants at 25% stores with limited numbers and only 1 house hold per table. masks on and lots of hand sanitizer and social distancing. . some places are just out of lock down and some are more open than us., its a big country. I hope that with summer and the vaccine we can hopefully get back to almost normal soon.

Interesting that you’ve gone back to this Ann. I’d forgotten that we’d had this discussion. Looking back at our conversation I realise it’s almost exactly a year ago as it was just before UK mothers’ day when I wrote and it’s mothers’ day again here tomorrow. I have a very strong recollection of sitting at the dining table with my (adult) children listening to an announcement that we would be locked down for ‘at least 3 weeks’. 3 weeks! The look of absolute horror on my daughter’s face is something I won’t forget. The thought of being locked down for most of a year would have been totally unimaginable.
I have my vaccinations booked and have pencilled in a visit to my parents as soon as we’re allowed to travel for overnight stays. I agree that staying in touch with other felt and fibre enthusiast is really helpful for maintaining focus and enthusiasm and for a sense of kind (albeit distant) friendship.
So, thanks everyone for sharing work and comments. I’m looking forward to the time when we can get out and have felt and fibre conversations face-to face!

I visited my daughter in Glasgow last year on 13 March, for a 2 day visit. We knew 'something' was coming, so it was a lovely weekend. I have had my fist vaccine AZ on 1 March, 2nd shot is due in May. I still have a little bruise on my arm, but otherwise all good.

My husband has had both shots. He is a front-line worker and they were done first. They say my age group should be in early June but it may come faster as we approved another vaccine and that makes 4. I may get it with teachers if they get moved up the list. I am looking forward to some warmer weather and getting outside.

I got my first 2/15 then they cancelled my second shot because they ran out so I’ve been scrambling to find a place to get the second, so, frustrating it’s become a full time job. On top of that Walgreens website won’t let me book a second. I spent a half hour on their 800 number and was told there was no where near me fir the second, then she cut me off! It’s crazy here.

I'm sorry to hear that Marilyn - you don't need the stress.
At the beginning of the vaccination programme over here people were receiving both shots within 3 weeks, but then the government decided to spread the shots out - the idea being that it would be better to have more people with just one shot than less people with both shots. So there is now a gap of 3 months between shots. I had my first one in mid January and I although I don't have a date for the second one, I expect it will be mid April.
It's hoped that all adults in the UK will have been offered their first shot by the end of July 2021.

Here all the states are doing things differently. My sister in Virginia had to drive 2.5 hours to get her vaccine. North Carolina is just giving them to anyone who walks in. Apparently, they can hardly give them away. So it is crazy trying to work out how or where to get your vaccine.
That's a good idea about everyone getting their first vaccine, makes more sense to me. At least than more people will have immunity even if it isn't full immunity.

Here each province decides but I think all are trying to get everyone their first shot. We were like England with the 3 weeks between but they changed the policy a couple of weeks ago and now it's up to 4 months between.

It’s my understanding I have to get the second within 42 days of the first. I’m still trying.

It’s my understanding I have to get the second within 42 days of the first. I’m still trying. Don't give up with trying ... but don't let it stress you out. If you have to hang on to the end of a phone for an hour or two, read a book or watch a film.

So sorry you’re having problems Marilyn. As I understand it (and given the UK and Canada’s national policies) I don’t think going beyond 42 days is a problem. There’s good evidence that 12 weeks between injections works well. I hope you are able to sort something out soon. I know you really don’t need the additional stress. Best wishes x

We are back in the red zone tomorrow cases have gone up. so only 10 aloud in a restaurant and only 4 in a family to a table. no theatres and more restrictions on numbers in stores. the restaurant numbers are strange. It was 50 no matter the size of the restaurant. It should be per capacity or square footage. Not much changes for me as we don't go to movies and were not eating out yet. I might have to wait to get in to costco tomorrow. I can mange.
I hope you fine a place soon. when they cancelled did they saythey would call when they get some. They are doing up to 4 months between here now.

I got a call from Walgreens corporate this morning acknowledging my email complaint. She transferred me to the scheduling and they still don’t have anything. But this woman transferred the request to the actual scheduling department. They were supposed to contact with an appointment today by noon. But nothing yet.
I did get an invitation from my county, but I wasn’t sure they’d take me for the second dose. I talked to a Vaccine Angel yesterday who was supposed to call me back and let me know if I could get the second tomorrow. No call back. I got more information this morning that they are giving the second Moderna dose so I booked it.
I have been stressed for a whole week. I’ll be glad to have this over with so I can relax and sleep again. Thanks for all your well wishes and support!
