I am eager to see what you've created Ann! I have been steadily working on the landscape that I showed the start of on the blog today. It is taking much longer than expected but I'm having fun.

I'm messing about trying to come up with something for the challenge - already dismissed 3 ideas and samples!

I laced my hand stitched piece to matte board in preparation for framing. I am still working daily on my machine stitched landscape, slowly nearing the finish.😀

Just finished my colourscape - it's been my daily dose for the last 9 days - as usual more time spent thinking, planning and binning most ideas than actually making! (I'll show it in November in my scheduled blog post.)

I'm looking forward to seeing what you came up with. I haven't started on mine. Still working on my landscape collage.

Annie's still working on her cityscape! To be fair though - she always has several projects on the go all at once.

I managed to get 3 scarves finished yesterday and another one today. I have 2 hats started but didn't shape the other one that is 3/4 done. Maybe tomorrow

I’ve been spending my studio time this week carding different wools and making prefelts in preparation for Gladys Paulus’s 2 day seed pod workshop in the Netherlands in a couple of weeks’ time. I’ve been using up lots of non-Merino wools that I’ve had for some time which has been great & I’m looking forward to felting with them. It has surprised me how long the carding has taken. We need a minimum of 500g of carded batts & I thought I’d done loads but I weighed them when I got home to find I only just had enough so I will be doing more as I’d like to be able to have some choices.
She has asked that we use wool in the 24-30 microns range so I’ve been using Finnish, Swaledale, BFL, Kentish Romney and a mystery mix that’s made from all sorts of odds and ends blends that I’ve fished out of the lap waste skip on happy visits to World of Wool. Maybe I should do a test piece in mystery mix to make sure it’s ok!
I’m really looking forward to the workshop though I’m a little daunted by the prospect, not least of all the travel as it’s some way outside Amsterdam and I’m staying in a horse hotel because it’s near the workshop venue. There are lots of photos of horses but none of the people accommodation so my family is already teasing me about sleeping in stables, eating hay & mucking out!

This sounds like quite the adventure Lindsay. I am sure you will have a marvelous time. I can't wait to see what you create. That mystery wool sampling is a good idea before you go so you won't have any unexpected problems. And I hope the accommodations are better than expected

my dose for yesterday was doing the shaping on 3 hats I finished on Wednesday. I am hoping to do some trimming and finishing on them later today when they are dry. Lindsay, it sounds like an adventure. All the horse people I know are pretty fussy when it comes to their horses so even if you are in the barn you should be ok.
