Marilyn and Ann - you may be able to find similar tools (just a different brand perhaps) on American and Canadian sites therefore reducing the shipping and import costs.
It's the import costs that are a problem for sales of items from US to UK.
Quote: "Any goods imported into the UK over the value of £15 are liable to import VAT (tax). Gifts between private individuals over the value of £34 are also liable for VAT. Goods and gifts over these values may also be liable for customs duty." Unquote.
And on top of the tax we have to pay £8 (just over US $10) handling charge to Royal Mail!
There's no getting away with it either - the postman puts a card through your door telling you to go collect your packet from the local sorting office where you get charged.

Marilyn thats only $22.88 USD. so not bad really. For me it's 30.74. The shipping would get us. I’m sure it would. I have more than enough needles at the moment.

Sounds like highway robbery! For the extra you pay they should deliver it on a silver platter to your door.

It wouldn't be so bad if they used the money to the benefit of everyone but they just seem to fritter it away to no ones good.

They both look great Lindsay. You could try putting the pebbles for the keychains in a nylon and giving the a trip through the washer and dryer. Just tie a knot between each one and toss in with a reg load. I have done that with small balls. Thanks Ann I don’t usually use the washing machine for felting but I did on this occasion, first in a stocking, then in a pillow case and finally just loose with a towel! I suspect the issue is that the way I cut up the boiled wool sweater middle means some spongy-ness is inevitable. The key ring pebbles have quite a big hole (to put the ring through) and a smaller proportion of tops to middle compared with the bigger pebbles so I’m not 100% confident they will go any firmer. I might try a bit more hand working and then either use one to see if it’s ok or stick them in the scrap box and go back to using all roving for the key rings.

I think they would probably be fine a little spongy if the roving over the core is good and hard. Let us know how the trial one goes.

I told a fib. I didn't do my seascape, I did Kumihimo. I am still working on my seascape I am deciding how to add the flowers and I am still not happy with the waves at the beach. Maybe next week I will have made enough progress to show you again.

Ann - Sometimes projects just need to be left alone while your mind works things out and doing something else in the meantime seems to help.

It is. I prefer savory to sweet. I may try some buttermilk biscuits with cheddar and chives as I am done earlier than usual. They would be good for breakfast before we leave in the morning.
