I can't believe it's May already. Especially with the cold weather we have been having. It doesn't seem like spring. What is everybody up to in your creative world? We'd love to hear what you are working on. Please join in on the conversation

Following on from my post I took my latest Felt project with me and continued slow stitching whilst waiting for the arrival of a delayed train. Next week it will come with me to my daughter's wedding celebrations....so will be living up to it's origin as a travel cloth. Having made her bouquet using silk flowers I'm planning on creating a felted 'skirt'. She loves sunflowers so this will be my starting point - each petal bearing the name of close family loved ones - those present and those who can't be.

It's always nice to have a piece to work on while you're waiting. The sunflower idea sounds lovely.

Thank you both. I'll try to take production photos and post the result. I've planned the how (where I can cut corners etc - to save valuable time) in my head - so hope it matches my image....!

Marilyn - if you are reading this....I’ve tried 3 times to reply to your comment on my Learning curves part 2, but it won't let me!!?
This is what I tried to send :
Yes Marilyn it is an interesting ride. Glad you like the cute factor. Before doing my fleeces I read everything I could find about washing them, but all involved back breaking methods. One day I’ll post my method in the hope it will help others.

The sea dragon is amazing. Your post about it was great.
Not a lot of felting going on for me. I still haven't finished my hats. I may do it tomorrow as the two men are going out. I have been working on our guild show. I am not sure how I got roped into being chair and registrar at the same time.

Hi Antje, Thats sounds odd, but in our digital world you can never tell. I’m glad you posted here. i give you credit for washing your fleeces. But after two back surgeries and a hip replacement I’d rather send it out. i look forward to learning about your method. Thanks.

I'm doing some machine stitching on my 2nd Quarter challenge piece. I have been doing 10-15 minutes each morning before work. It's coming along but still have at least an hours worth of work left. What are you working on?

I like to needle felt with one needle, but I've just bought a 'Clover' 5 needle punch to see how I get on with it. So that's my plan for a few days!

I have one of those Lyn. I don't use it that much but it does work well for covering more surface area at a time.
