Hey, maybe we can call it a syndrome, Elizabeth: then we can't help it, & it's not our fault...we're not just being greedy, it's an "issue", right? you can't fight such a terrible affliction, eh?!

Happy birthday Jill. I reckon Amazon know all our wishes and they are always ready to tempt us. The first of three books I order came today.. It is called the "Stitch Stories" my Cas Holmes from the UK a textile Artist... I can hardly wait to find some time to start reading it.. It is the first book I have ever order that the cover and back of the books feels like a soft velvety fabric.. It is truly a beautiful book.

Oh no, don't start me off again, Judy! I looked at that book too, & wondered why the reviews spoke of how lovely the cover was, enjoy... A nice quiet time, a cup of tea & a couple of chocolate biscuits needed, perhaps......

Very appropriate for a textile book.

Here is what I've done with the magical indigo : animal and vegetal fibers. apart for BFL fleece (5 to 10 minutes), I let the fibers for 10 minutes in the indigo vat white part a normal because there were inside all fibers where white, except the one in front / middle which is grey gotland and on the right some natural linen It was my first time with indigo, there are only a few seconds between these 2 skeins :

Isn't it wonderful Aphee? Cathy and I did an indigo day last year and it was fun. I wish I had done more locks. Wonderful results! I look forward to seeing what you use all this for. :-)

Aphee, congrats on a successful indigo dye! I remember the thrill of seeing the green turn blue. You dyed a lot of wool. I wish we had left some of our wool and cloth in the vat for a longer time. Look forward to seeing your upcoming projects with indigo dyed fiber.

Thanks for your warming comments ladies !! I dyed about 1 kg of fibers.... about 2/3 wool (vegetal or silk otherwise) I like so much seeing the dye on different fibers No mordant, I used this recipe : hydrosulfite de sodium and carbonate de potassium (sorry in french) : alysse-creations.info/indigo-naturel-en-poudre.html10 minutes is the maximum, few fibers are "too blue" I will use some mixed with purple and green for a felted vest my mother I asked me to do I first try the model for me, I will post the beginning these days on the forum
