I believe Etsy will keep most of their sellers, because what is the alternative? That is, unless Amazon goes through with the “Handmade” site and offers sellers a decent deal. One of the reasons I have stuck with Etsy is because of my positive feedbacks--over 80. You lose that when you jump to another site. Food for thought.

Do you know if it is possible to circumvent the VAT by offering email attachments via etsy? I would like to start selling tutorials on Etsy but all this is putting me off.

Do you know if it is possible to circumvent the VAT by offering email attachments via etsy? I would like to start selling tutorials on Etsy but all this is putting me off. As far as I know, the only way to list a tutorial on Etsy is to upload it to Etsy's site. Then when a sale is made, Etsy sends the tutorial out for you. You need never have a listing run dry because you can say you have, for example, 20 copies for sale. The listing lasts for months so if you are very lucky and sell lots, you can edit your listing to increase the copies again as they sell. If anyone knows different, please speak up!

Are there similar problems on "Folksy"? I've been thinking of using them as when I attempted to set up an Etsy shop they just kept sending me round in a circle. As I remember, there were 2 options for payment and they didn't want me to use the option I chose. Some choice!

I was on Folksy a couple of years ago, then had to shut shop when Folksy decided that sellers could only sell physical items.
However, I've just had a quick look and there are sellers advertising pdfs that will be emailed out!

Yup. It's Southern Ireland, an EU member country. Not to be confused with Northern Ireland that is still part of the UK.

This is a happy Etsy message (it's not often we get to say that). Today I received the most lovely message from a lady who bought one of my book covers. While the Etsy administrators might be a bunch of mercenary half wits, this message reminded me what a lovely community (shoppers and sellers) exists in there. This is what appeared in my inbox this morning and left a smile on my face all day : Dear Teri, I just received the beautiful felt book cover - its green with frond like shapes - I love it - its SO beautiful and I am sure the friend I am sending it to will love it as well! She has just become a celebrant and I thought it would be nice for her to have this special book for when she does ceremonies! Kindest Regards, XXXXXX How sweet is that?
