Great results Judy. No. 1 is my favourite. I agree with your DH - sell them.

Here are a couple of my first eco=-printed scarves from last week. On habotai, the darker is eucalyptus & the lighter is wild chrysanthamums. How very different in style & result from Judy's, I didn't get the definite leaf shapes, although looking close-up on the eucalyptus one the leaves & seedpods do show, yet it's a similar process. I am aiming to find time to play again this coming week. www.flickr.com/photos/62077747@N05/17276573421www.flickr.com/photos/62077747@N05/16656838853

Jill, your scarves are beautiful, and I see your inspiration in the lovely flowers that grow around you.

Jill I love the scarves. Personally I prefer the airy look of the colors floating on silk.

I'm fascinated by this process and I love the outcomes on both yours Judy and Yours Jill, do you follow a recipe to get the colour out of the plant?

Hello Jill, your scarfs did turn out very lovely.. Carole, before starting to play with Eco-printing I thought there was an exact recipe so I bought the book by India Flint from Australia. I found kinda of recipe but not exact. So after reading I jump in and play. I have learn to experiment to see what happens.. There is never a same results.. I could never repeat a idea I write down and get the exact result, similar but not exact... I did did sign up for a Eco printing class at the end of May by Nicola Brown from Ireland... So we shall see what more I learn.. Smile. feltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/10/96x2baybyaeav17duyea.jpgAttachments:

Ooo, a Nicola Brown course: I'm jealous.
I really am just starting out on this eco-printing journey, have been reading everything I could find on-line (which isn't a lot of technique stuff), then starting to play! Using vinegar & rusty metal, have no idea in what proportions etc they should be, although I think I have already discovered that more rust = darker results. Eucalyptus is easy to get prints from, but there are many sub-species, all giving different results. That's all I know so far, but I do chuckle inside when I am boiling silk, to think of how gently people handle the resulting scarves.

Jill - I have a jar of 50/50 water and vinegar with bits and bobs of rusty metal - I use the liquor to achieve a 'saddening' effect on the dyed fibre. I also have the same 50/50 mix in another jar with offcuts of copper pipe, joints etc. to create a bghtening effect. There are also a number of other jars containing various boiled up plant juices. I might add that I am not allowed any more shelf space in the garage for my alchemy as I think DH is waiting for me to park my broomstick in there.

Oh, you should have waited. I've asked Terriea Kwong if she's interested in doing an eco printing course/workshop. She taught Nicola Brown and travels all over the world teaching. Jill, I've thought the same when people handle a silk nuno piece very gently, imagine how they'd feel if they'd seen me fling it on the table to shock it! Judith, you're an odd one

Oh Judith, you're so far ahead of me, I only have the 1 old jam jar so far ; Copper, perhaps that is what I need now (will go hunting building sites maybe)
Zed - yes please to Terrie Kwong online, if at all possible, I'm so up for that. I was hoping to play more this week, but foster puppies & visitor have taken all my time.

Zed - keep me informed of a Terriea Kwong course/workshop please. I could be interested if it's not too expensive. Many courses are too pricey for me.
