I've finished a pair of slippers. This time the model is a little bit different, clogs with elevated heal. I used Bergschaff woll and for decoration some coloured wool and dyed silk hankies on the top in front. Beofre I put the slippers into the washing machine I needle felted the initials. The flower was attached afterwards.

Before I pack these away thought I would show you the 14 pot covers that I have completed. Only 6 more to go! They are for judges gifts in 2015 and were requested to be made in Red, White and Blue. My goal is to finish the others before 1/1/15. Want to finish them so I will not have this project "nagging" me and I can focus on 3 new projects that will be put in a flower show June 2015 - hoping I can incorporate at least something felted into at least one of the designs/exhibits. feltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/pb2j5j9kpjz2zjqu4apr.jpgYes, I start planning early - My exhibits with be a "Floor Design" that originates on the floor and will have a space of 36"x36" and be about 5 feet tall. A chair with a live or dried floral design incorporated in it and a table design portraying a Picnic with the plates, cups, etc. placed in a non funtional manner and containing a floral design. This is the last one I did and I got a 2nd place ribbon :-( feltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/jfaqndpmcqiesgkehnx8.jpg (I did get two 1st place ribbons on a basket and a bird house in that show) Has anyone ever felted a vessel to look like a watermelon - might make a nice container for a picnic design.

Nada - your slippers are gorgeous!
Frances - Won't the judges just love their gifts. Nice that you're making all different designs, they all look very patriotic. Good luck on your floor design planning.

Although I have been admiring the wonderful gifts you all have been making, I got very, very busy at the beginning of December with a part-time consulting job, and then on Saturday eve my 91-year old mother fell in the Church parking lot. She fractured a neck bone and went to emergency room, then hospital for 4 days and now physical rehab. So yes, I have been busy. All plans for fiber gifts screeched to a halt, and I was happy I had made a few pairs of wrist warmers during late November. You may also remember my birch bark experiments, and so I finally framed the two small ones to give to my brother on Christmas (didn’t think he would wear the wrist warmers…) So here are the two shadows boxes for Bill, and I can see they already need fixing with the ripply white wool…just need to tack down to the backing. Sorry to hear about your mum, Cathy, I hope she's not in pain. The bark pictures look great. Gorgeous slippers as always, Nada Your pots are very creative, Frances. I read your Flower show exhibit requirements a few times, and I'll agree with Ann, on 'interesting'. I'm not sure I quite understand it though

Oh, I forgot to say what I did, I photographed a few things I made recently, one was a felt trivet I made for my kitchen, somewhere to put hot pans instead of the counter. It's only small, for sauce/milk pans type size: This is the back, I used silicone sealant on it, I had to use my finger to spread it, I tried a lolly stick and paintbrush, but my finger worked best. I actually finished my Land Art challenge piece, here are a couple of sneaky peeks at it, I'll post about it on Monday (I think!):

Very nice trivet, Zed. I like practical things and this will certainly serve its purpose. Your LandArt challenge piece looks very intriguing. Looking forwaard to seeing what you've made.
