I'm with you both on this, think I will stick with putting hot water and coffee into milk, not hats....

No problem, you could create a lovely felted lighthouse pic for your husband! Will get back if I have anything suitable for you.

It was collected from a beach not far from Bridlington. I got it a long time ago and noticed how there wasn't much to be found a while back, you could have a mooch at Brid. Let me have a look at what I have tomorrow and I'll PM you.

Thanks for the sleeve explanation Anne. I am sure you will decide how to display it to it's best potential. If you fancy any driftwood to hang it, give me a shout! Hanging it from a good sized chunk of drift wood might look great... But unless you're in the uk it might be a bit costly to get it! Are you beside the sea? Lucky thing if so! 😃 Yes I'm in the UK Anne, not beside the sea but we used to walk our dogs on the East coast and I'm always, always foraging for something or another! What is the width of your picture and we'll go from there.

I asked the company very politely for a sample and they said it wasn't something they did.

Well worth the wait Anne! Gorgeous sunset but still showing intense light in my humble opinion, and the gull has worked beautifully. I like to leave a lot of things free mounted, not everything needs a structured frame. Would be interested to know what you mean by a sleeve?

Thanks Madeleine. I could check with the supplier regarding thickness. The piece I have been looking at does have sequins and not too pricey either.

I have seen some lovely Indian lace on line and wondered how easy it might be to wet felt as a surface design on to a bag?

Gorgeous Madeleine. Yes the colours are vibrant and well chosen, lovely. Good luck with the coat, looking forward to seeing that too.

Thanks Ladies. I guess I could use some scrunched up bubble wrap to felt it but it's the feel of the process that I like!

My Corriedale arrived yesterday, I like the colour tones of it very much. I made a sample today, great advice Ruth, it behaved as well as Merino for me, felting quickly as everyone said, but even doing a quick 7" square sample my hands were itching! I don't get this with Merino. Not a big problem hopefully.

Is it easy to restrict the medium to a specific area, if the rest of the project is wet also does it not leech to other wet areas?
