You should try wetting kapok or cotton then! Kapok was so impossible I contacted an outdoor clothing company about it, they were really interested and said they'd look into it.

I probably have every shade of blue World of Wool do and have never had a problem. I've used really old wool too and never had a problem. Was it laid out too thickly? Or maybe it was a rogue Superwash. Were yours from WoW too? Did you try the dodgy shade with something else?

I rub the piece on the pebbles, the board is quite heavy, thick perspex. I'd love a curved one like Judith made to help with vessels.

I shouldn't let it, but stuff like this really annoys me. Someone 'discovers' something, puts a spin on it and is up for a massive cash reward.

I used mine last week for a demo trivet. This is the felted piece before I started 'extreme fulling' and this is after it shrunk as much as I could make it:

Thanks, Judith My daily dose today was carding some wool tops together that Judith sent me for the well-being centre. Yesterday a friend came around to help me practise my people-skills for MakeFest. I'm going to have to write 'scales' on my hand, I can never think of the word. I completely overestimated how easy people would find it and underestimated how much room people would need.

Maybe we should mention it to etsy that it is going to be easier for a lot of us to sell from our own sites, maybe if there's no incentive for people to stay at etsy, they'll pull their finger out and create one by giving us options.

I saw them say something similar, they are not in the UK so can charge UK buyers. I still don't think it's fair. They're a collecting agent, not the seller.
Even if we do get a threshold it won't make any difference if etsy are regarded as 'the seller', unless the threshold is EU wide, but then etsy are above the threshold, so it still won't make any difference.

That's a great bag, and great spinning wheel too! Does it work well?
I've made a few more little sample pieces for MakeFest, a little 'landscape' using plastic fibre for texture, surface detail and a 'daft' hat. It was meant to be textured and rippled like a tree trunk, but ended up smooth, and took far too long!
