Way cool fabric Lyn. I don't think I've ever seen any fabric like that. I think your cosy is great.

Lovely fabric, a great find. I like the way it went all squiggly on the mug cozy. How are you holding it closed under the handle.

I love the squiggliness too - a similar scarf, with yellows and turquoises running through it, was used for the nuno sea background (on blues and greens merino) in the sea dragon. Re: the mug cosy - it's just a simple clear plastic popper - quite a strong one though.

OK - language confusion - what's a "clear plastic popper"? Is that a snap closure?

Snap closure perhaps, is that the same as a press stud? And we're supposed to have a common language.

I'm not sure what a press stud is either. I guess I'll need a photo if someone has one.

Yes Ruth - it's an invisible snap closure a.k.a. press stud. They're available in many sizes and they 'disappear' quite well because the clear plastic takes on the colour of the fabric.
Our tongues are merging.....slowly.....most people now refer to them as snap closures, but I was brought up with the old fashioned term 'popper' and that's the word I use without thinking. But it makes sense because when you pull them apart, they 'pop'.

That's what I figured Lyn but I wanted to make sure. I don't know if we have clear plastic ones like that. I'll have to check and see.

Press stud I knew but not popper. Karen, it was just recently that I learned that waltzing Matilda was going for a walk in the bush and not someone that wanted Matilda to dance with him.

Love it Ann! Many years ago I worked with an Australian who was asking where the Sellotape (sticky tape) was kept - but they have a different word for it down under, which has a very different meaning in UK!! We were a bit shocked as we wondered what she was going to get up to on the Eye Dept!! Karen will understand.
