Have been working on darts this evening. So many possibilities. Also need to stabilise the front edges as they're a bit thin. It will just have to evolve I think. Will probably do some FME with a backing fabric as it will help to stabilise the thin bits. Perhaps some applique and hand stitching? ?? It's a blank canvas really and I have lots of time as the weather is far too cold at present to wear such a garment.

Wow, that looks great, Judith! Judy, you can buy Fimo soft which is much easier to work, Sculpey is softer too. Using the pasta machine often results in poorly conditioned clay. I find it incredibly hard to soften Fimo and my hands hurt for days after. The softer stuff can get too soft though. Fimo is definitely a winter sport.

Thanks zed and kaz. I find fimo needs a good working before using the pasta machine. Just as you would work the dough first when using it for pasta!

Judith, Your new jacket is looking good - I really like the colour - and what a good idea for taking the photos of yourself!
I spent a glorious day with Annie yesterday and we did some felting and writing (and chatting of course). And we had the traditional moan of the craft room not being big enough. An aircraft hanger used as a craft room would probably feel snug after a while though wouldn't it?

Thanks Lyn. Glad you had a good day with Annie. A big workspace must be great, but then words such as "Topsy" spring to mind!!

The jacket is looking great. I found it was esier to make the fabric and then sew it if I wanted a good fit for my full figure. Does anyone else remember Jane Russell and her bras for full figured galls? I agree Lyn and aircraft hanger would end up feeling snug after a while. Stuff expands to over fill the space available. Judy I bet your clay Snickers looks better than anything I could make.

Had a snow storm go through. We quickly took the gang to Bass Pro. The headquarters is here in our town and we have the biggest store and museum here. It was just raining at this point. We stopped in to see the Seniors Art Exhibit that I am in. I knew it would get too bad to wait until evening for the reception and I was right. I am sure they had to call it off. My daughter's family had not seen my Esther project and pictures do not do it justice. Got home just before it got too slick. They did the usual Easter egg decorating with Sharpie pens and then we talked forever. In spite of the fact that my clay Snickers was warped, they all loved it and thought it looked like Snickers herself. More activities today. BTW, I also feel the four walls in my studio. Wish it was bigger. I really love the felt jacket and see those on Pinterest all the time. Some one had made two felt flower pictures for the Senior's exhibit, but they did not jury into the show. Judges really don't know anything about fiber art.

I'm glad you had a nice day with Annie, Lyn You should all try working on my table for a week, your spaces will soon seem huge in comparison I went looking through my made felt box yesterday to find something I wanted to work on, but got distracted and decided to put together a fabric pack for etsy based on the fabrics I used in my book. 2 hours later I was still piling stuff together and taking photos! I don't know how people make money from etsy, the putting together, photos, listing, packing, going to the post office....if you paid yourself minimum wage just for that you'd have to add a fair amount onto the price!

Well, all the company is leaving this morning and heading into, yet another, snow storm coming through. My son in law is an excellent driver, but it worries me. Had half of my family here last night and it was like they were teen agers again. They did face time with my son on the Iphones and laughed and laughed. The girls made fun of his Brostach (as they call his mustach) and he equally insulted them. The cousins sat all over the furniture texting one another (which makes no sense to me) We had the big art competitions with the Easter eggs and Fimo clay. One granddaughter worked the clay like an expert. Put me to shame. This girl has real talent. And so, grandma is exhausted and needs a nap. (especially after walking all over the Discovery Center with them) I agree about Etsy, BTW. That is one of the things that has kept me from doing it.

I think with etsy you have to be organised when you are doing kits. if everything is organise by type( wool silk fabric etc) then further categorised by colour you can grab things quickly and take a picture. do a hole bunch of them and pack them into bags and then you can post a couple a day. I notice people post the same thing several times when there is more than one. My daughter was after me about getting my store going. she says she will help, I have to figure out what I still have that I have pictures of.
