Almost the end? What will we ever do with all our free time? (that was a joke folks) Prepared two wall hangings for jury into the local university's senior art competition. I have never won anything in this show. It is extremely competitive. I am up against the best. So, we will see. I will drop them off in the morning and then call to see if I was able to jury in. Also, am preparing for the two teen granddaughters. They are also expecting some great project, so I have some fimo clay and found a tutorial on Pinterest of how to make a dog that looks just like Snickers. This will be fun. They will also decorate eggs with Sharpie pens. You would not believe how good they are at this. But for now I am worn out. Laundry and cooking today.

Here's a 'NOT how to stiffen cobweb felt' tip. I stiffened this cobweb pot, felted over a glass vase, with CMC paste. I figured that once dry, the felt would slip away from the glass. Uh-uh. It stuck fast. I had to use a filleting knife to prise it off. I've loved this challenge - thank you Ruth - it gave me a much needed re-think. I've also been very impressed with the staggering amount of work Judy achieves. Attachments:

Why is the word 'God' under my name in the post above?

Ha, I didn't notice that, Lyn You must be the fibre god! Your pot looks great, it reminds me of that glass from the 60's, you'd get fish and bowls made out of it. There seems to be one thing after another here lately. I'm flitting between spinning and writing a post for my blog about the scheme I got on to try self employment, to see if it will help others.

I had a 'deja-vu' moment when I took the photo - you're right Zed - 60's glass!

Lyn i saw the God under your name a while ago and kept forgetting to comment on that lol Maybe it should say Goddess I really like the pot, pretty colors, and yes very Murano glass , if the paste you use is anything like paverpol it will stick to everything except plastic, so maybe use some cling wrap around the vase first lol

That's funny Lyn. it just means you have posted a lot, it changes at 500 posts. Great pot, aren't you glad that you used a glass and not a cardboard or paper cup.

Thanks for the advice Lyn! I have done things like that before and it's good you were able to get it off in one piece. I am going to go look at the category names for members and see if we can't change that to Goddess!

That's better! You're now a Goddess Lyn. Glad you have enjoyed the challenge. I have as well and I'm happy I have been able to do at least 5 minutes of creative time a day plus post about it.

That vase looks super Lyn. I used cling film when I was making moulds with expanding foam and it peeled off very easily. It might work with CMC too.
