Can you believe it? We are almost through 2 months of the year. I have been busy in my stitch class with all day doses of fiber. I will be very sad for it to end on Wednesday. But we are all planning on getting together in September for an exhibition of our work. What are you doing this week?

Having had a dyeing splurge, I'm just planning my next move, which (hopefully) will be my Spring jacket. Working on some notes, sketches and trying to decide which side of the colour wheel to use as embellishment. Then I'll have to commandeer the dining table, which is the biggest work area I have.

Not much in the way of hands-on fibre fun this week, I've got tutorials to write.....but they're about fibre so that's not too bad. I spent just over two hours in the garden this morning trying to get 'the photo'. It was about 3C and breezy so I was very cold. And when I checked out all the shots I'd taken, I decided that one I took yesterday was better. Doh!

Judith - I am looking forward to seeing the new jacket. I would love to see in process photos and here how it is going.
Lyn - isn't photography painful sometimes? Writing tutorials is definitely fiber related.

photography can be very frustrating. I always have a hard time not getting my shadow in itwhen I am trying to do indoor pictures.

My old computer died on me a few weeks ago and I've just got a new one. It's a different system and I'm still getting to grips with it. I have photos but being something of a Luddite, I need to get some help to get them off the camera!! Will post ASAP

Well, I see that many of you have the same problems that I have with photography. My shadow just always wants to get in the way. Sort of like Peter Pan. lol All this preparation for my upcoming class next week, is just a little taste of what it must be like to write a tutorial. I started out early today after about 2 inches of snowfall. I took my Snickers and Dewey the Cockatiel projects to the quilt guild for show and tell. They really loved what I had done with them. I came home and put a sealer coat on my clay elements. And now I am lazy and don't want to move.

Have finally managed to get some photos from camera to cloud. It wasn't difficult at all, my brain just needed to have an extra App. installed. My Springtime yellows/greens. Cotton scrim, merino, mulberry bark fibre, various silks and threads. Not a great photo. Where to start? First clear the family out for a few days. ;D Edited (2) - CIMG6045 by koffipot, on Flickr

Ooh, gorgeous fibres and gorgeous colours, Judith It always seems that the first photo I took is the best too, Lyn. I don't have the shadow problem, I do have a light problem though and when I do finally get a bright day and get set up by my window, someone from the flats opposite will open their window and reflect the sun right at the table. The closest to fibre I've got lately is doing laundry

All the colours look great. I was hoping it would be warm enough to dye outside on the BBQ side burner but its not looking great. Judy's snow is dumping on me now. It is snowing sideways. On the plus side I may get a snow day tomorrow then I can get some more felting done.
