6 months from end of March 2011 until Oct. 1, 2011 - that doesn't count the editing process. I did my last editing in March of 2012.

It's so strange I just went to amazon to get the link for someone on facebook and they list a used copy already and it doesn't come out till tomorrow.

Ann - they are already available. I was waiting to post about it until I got the shipping thing worked out. It costs $17 to ship to Europe or Australia. I'm not thinking anyone will want to pay that much. You can order the book now from Amazon and you'll get it. I saw the used one - that was there the day after the book was available.

All I can think is it's a book store that orders and then undercuts amazon by saying it's used. I am glad it's out now. the amazon.com said ther where only 13 left but more would be coming.

Is that for you personally it'll cost $17, Ruth? I used to get a lot of things from the US when the exchange rate made it really cheap and there's flat rate envelopes/boxes. Last time I had anything in the envelope it was $14 I think, and it was two large bottles of Weldbond, I think there's a 4lb limit.

I went and checked at the post office to find out the cheapest shipping method. I've sent you stuff that was only $5-6 but shipping the book will be $17 for just postage. That doesn't count the envelope. In the US, it is less than $4 for shipping to anywhere in the states. Doesn't make much sense. I'm not sure what to do about people that want a signed copy from Europe. Perhaps a sticker that I sign and then they order from Amazon?

Just so you know, it is also listed on The Book Depository, the price is a couple of dollars higher than Amazon and they say it isn't available until 15th August but they do free delivery anywhere in the world. Being in Australia this is the best option for me and I would be happy to do this and have a signed sticker to put in it (I should be on your list of people wanting a copy Ruth).

Is it $17 to Canada too Ruth? There used to be a media rate. They are changing things all the time. I wonder what it would be through UPS or similar. Shipping out of country can be very expensive.

Is this a good book for beginners like me, who only use felting in mixed media. I am too old to start a new career, but would like to know more about different fibers and techniques. If so, I am in the U.S.A. and would like a copy also.

It is great for beginners, Judy. I read it without photos and the info and instructions are really clear, so with all the photos added it should be perfect
