They look super Marian, the colour blend is wonderful. I am sure they will be gratefully received.

Thanks for all your comments. Yes the dragons are stitched on, made from some kind of shiny gold fabric I picked up like the magpie that I am. The fastening is with a piece of elastic at the wrist and then I stitched the two corners together about 3 inches above the elastic to hold them into a narrower tube around the fingers
I found it tricky to sew the elastic in as only a small amount of give is required so I had to put a pleat in the first one as it was too long and made them floppy

I've been experimenting with fastenings for wristwarmers, having now also tried out the wonderful leaf idea. Sewing the elastic on the inside doesn't work as it leaves the overlap gaping Here's one pair with elastic sewn onto the outside - works ok but isn't so pretty 2016-11-06 09.29.20 by blyth whimsies, on Flickr and here's one with a button and elastic loop which is my preference 2016-11-06 09.29.57 by blyth whimsies, on Flickr

Wow! Your dragon wrist warmers really take wrist warmers to a new level Marian! Beautiful! I've continued making wrist warmers too, and decided that a nuno-felted piece of fabric along the middle, also as "embellishment", can be a good idea to reinforce where the buttonhole vs button, or whatever fastening you choose, need to be sewn in.
