Over the past weeks I have been engaged in making another nuno felted jacket. This time I bought some printed cotton fabric, prepared templates and spread the fabric on the whole surface using two-layers of merino wool.http://www.ipernity.com/doc/724735/42541744/in/album/713051 This time I decdided to have sewed-in sleeves. The rest of the jacket is seamless. I left some extra felt on the top of sleeves and in the area of arms and shoulders. When I finished all the elements I took them to my seamstress who took my measurements and sewed in the sleeves. After that I made some deocrations around the neck and stitched them www.ipernity.com/doc/724735/42541748/in/album/713051. To strengthen the button area I hand stitched a lace tape along the front parts.http://www.ipernity.com/doc/724735/42541746/in/album/713051. I wanted to have some interesting snap sew-on buttons which I could not get here so I ordered them from China. They only arrived yesterday so I could finish my jacket. The jaket is light (used only approx 350 gr of wool) but warm enough for spring or cold summer days.

Nada your jacket is stunning, what a great garment to make, and I love the detail and the beading - just beautiful.
Judith now I can't get the image of you spinning in your lycra :-)

Fabulous jacket Nada! You've outdone yourself. How long did it take you to finish?

Nada - Can't click onto your ipernity links, but I assume it's the jacket on Fb which is stunning. Lots of nice finishing touches, set in sleeves, lace tape, pretty poppers and the neck detail. All in all - just Fab!

Thank you ladies for your nice comments. Marily was asking how much time it took me. I was not rushing and was making it slowly: first I made the sleeves (two tubes) and then the back and the front parts in one piece. I spent one day making embellishments and the most time consuming part was hand stitching and beading and attaching the lace tape and buttons.

That's gorgeous, Nada I've not had chance to do any felting lately, but I did discover how biodegradable wool is when I tackled my much neglected garden last week. I thought I'd found a poor dead and decomposed hedgehog, then realised it was too soft so must be a squirrel, but after the obligatory poke with a stick, I remembered I'd hung a bird pod in the bushes above. It must have fallen off and all that was left was a small pile of fibres

ha-ha! I'm not brave - my stick would have been very long and I would have extended my arm fully.
I expect lots of birds have pulled at it for nesting material.
