'bagsie'? Is that like 'dibbs' on this side of the Atlantic? :-)

My dose was getting into Fiona Duthie's Surface Design class. Here I combined the prefelt and roving lesson. The darker yellows are some nasty craft-store felt I bought ages ago and made prefelt out of. There's some thin merino prefelt. The thicker yellow & whites are roving and the thin yellow is some alpaca yarn I bought in Peru. And sprinkled with nepps. Before felting: After: Close-up:

Lovely yarns Judith, can't wait to see what you do with them. My daily dose is some dyeing today- I brought a 2.5 KG reel of wool boucle (about an 8ply thickness) at the wool show so I wound off a hank and some balls and dyed them with landscape dyes this morning, along with some Merino cross natural white I had sitting here- just to see. LOL I see that my fleece top is not so fluffy anymore and will need carding, I hate that that happens. I microwave dyed this lot so there was no stirring - it must have been in the rinsing handling.Mostly I will use the boucle for felting into garments as decoration but will give some to my knitting friend and another weaving buddy wants some too.

Love your starry night Elizabeth, that's the kind of felt work I enjoy doing too, and getting to use up 'stuff' is always fun. I like the energy and depth in this makes me feel like dancing.
Sue the dyeing looks good and those colours should mix well.

Elizabeth - Just WOW! Really beautiful results. I suppose Dibbs and bagsie are synonymous! lol
Chookie - Lovely colours there! The felting of wool in the microwave is perhaps because it gets to boiling point. 85C/185F is ideal, though difficult to judge in the microwave, it also depends on what wool you are using, some felts more easily than others.

Great starry night picture Elizabeth. Lots of movement and depth.
Judith you got a lot done during the tour. I like the purples too. Nice dye jobs Sue. For the top try giving it a good shake to loosen it up again. All the air has gone out of it.

We're spinning with the "Prudential Cycle London" event 29th - 31st July, then with the Olympics, followed by Vuelta a Espana, so I might have enough for a jumper before too long! I won't offend anyone's sensibilities by wearing the lycra though

Such a lot going on since I last looked!
Judith - love your spinning! (Lycra would be too sweaty in this heat anyway wouldn't it?) Elizabeth - the picture is great - I like the colours and the depth and interest you've created. Sue - I love boucle for felt inclusion and the colours you've achieved are scrummy.

Thanks everyone- this was just a tryout experiment - my first using multiple Landscape dyes.(which I also brought at the Wool Show.LOL Judith I used Landscape dyes this time and with their microwave instructions- 5 mins, turn another 5 mins...in covered container, it definitely set the dyes ok but yes the top is a bit less fluffy than I had hoped.
I will try that Ann - just took them in off the line - weather not good for drying here in full on winter.

You've been very productive, girls. Sue, I like the colours you got and especially love the boucle yarn. Elisabeth, you must be enjoying F. Dutie's class. The piece you made is lovely.
