Gorgeous Lyn he can come to my house anytime. I am thinking of a bare branch tree with birds this christmas...so much fun!

Beautiful Lyn, utterly amazed that you saw a bird in this pieces of felt that had been made for a pineapple!

Not sure that this is what Ann had in mind when she set the challenge this quarter but my other half broke an axe handle a few weeks ago and while he saw firewood, I saw a couple of bag handles so I "rescued" the wood to make this bag (and another yet to be made).

Love the bird Lyn!
Teri - that's a big bag, good use of the axe handle though.

It is a bit on the big side! I see it as a grocery bag, it has a gusseted bottom so will happily stand up in a shopping trolley on its own. The next one will be a little shorter but the same width

Well designed Terri - great recycling of the handle too. I love the graduated colors and the whole concept.Nice felting too! What amazing talent we have here.

Well it wasn't what I was thinking of but I think it will do fine. A good rescue. It must have been a long handled axe.

Wonderful handle. It's sturdy, easy to hold and surprisingly (for an ex-axe handle) pretty! Love the pattern on the flap of the bag and the banded colours of the bag.

Fan-baggie-bloody-tastic I say! Teri, that's such a distinctive, dramatic yet usable piece. I bet your partner shook his head with one of those 'now what's she up to' look!

Thank you ladies, I'm not a carpenter by any stretch of the imagination so I'm chuffed to bits with how the handle cleaned up with a bit of sanding and varnish I suspect he despairs of my whacky ideas at times but knows better than to say anything! We have an unspoken agreement that I will take the lead on anything that requires imagination or aesthetic appreciation (choosing paint colours or kitchen cabinets for example) while he is responsible for anything technical (rewiring the house, plumbing etc). I think it must be a boy thing to look at a beautiful piece of wood and think "burn it!"
