Hello! I am an American living in Japan. In my spare time I like to explore Japanese crafts, food, snacks, and everything kawaii! I learned about needle felting while living in Japan and developed a passion for this hobby! I like to collect Japanese craft books on needle felting but since I can't really read the words I end up just making my own creations inspired by the photos in the books. I like to felt things that are cute as opposed to realistic looking. My favorite things to felt are Sanrio characters. My other "crafty" hobbies include sewing clothes for my two girls, crocheting, knitting, making hair accessories for my daughters, and painting. I want to try polymer clay and resin but haven't gotten to it yet. On my Youtube Channel, I post needle felting DIY tutorials and random videos on kawaii things, including: -easy needle felting tutorials for beginners -advanced beginner needle felting tutorials -intermediate needle felting tutorials -japanese snack and candy hauls -japanese snack and candy reviews -unboxing of sonny angel dolls -egg surprise videos **WEBSITE: www.kawaiifelting.com**YOUTUBE CHANNEL: www.youtube.com/c/kawaiifelting**INSTAGRAM: instagram.com/kawaiifelting/**FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com/kawaiifelting

Welcome Kawaiifelting! Where are you located in Japan? My sons in laws are in Sapporo! Beautiful country and nice people. I can understand your fascination with the culture.
We love pictures. It sounds as if you are making the best use of your time there.
Very cute creatures! I look forward to seeing more.

Hello and welcome. We love Japan too especially at Hanami. Our son used to live in Tokyo (Azabujuban) and in Sapporo. Your needle felted pieces are really 'kawai'! I like making Omiyage, especially when I can lay my hands on some Japanese fabric.

Welcome to the fabulous Fiber & Felting Forum. How is it that you moved to Japan? It must be fun living in a foreign country with so much culture to absorb. I traveled to Japan last year for the first time and just loved it. We visited Tokyo, the typical shrines and other tourist sites. I especially loved staying in a Ryokan outside of Kyoto, and the leaves were turning in October, so beautiful sightseeing. Oh, and I became addicted to daifuku. Luckily I live near to a large Asian market where I can find my favorite Japanese foodstuffs.
You do needle-felting--that is how I started my journey with felting. Thanks for including so many links!

I thought omiyage were souvenirs but I'm still learning Japanese. Hope to see some of your creations!!

Thanks so much for the warm welcome! I moved to Japan because of my husband's job. It's only a temporary stay though, so I'm trying to absorb as much as I can. I love it here! I'm loving all the cute Japanese crafts like needle felt and making felt mascots. I love to look at the Japanese craft books even though I can't read them. I really want to try more wet felting, in addition to polymer clay, deco den, and resin as well... everything here is so cute! That's wonderful that you were able to visit Tokyo and Kyoto! I haven't been to Kyoto yet, but I really want to go. Japan is so beautiful during the fall... it's my favorite season. Daifuku is so tasty I'm glad you are able to find your favorite Japanese foods in the States!
