While I was in Germany last week, the temps were 102f a few days they were not happy and unprepared for such extremes. We do get it occasionally in Chicago but it's not the norm. I definitely wasn't prepared for that extreme either.

I hope you had time at the end of your trip to see some of the beauty of Paris? Many moons ago I was a chaperone on a four-day school trip - we travelled around the city by metro and by foot - exhausting but the best way to see it all.

This turned out very well, Zed. The texture you achieved is terrific!

Thanks, Cathy. I know it's the felt equivalent of a 5 year old's crayon drawing, but I do like it

Picture is lovely and DOES NOT LOOK LIKE A CRAYON DRAWING - you are being too critical of your talents - color combos are great!

I hope you had time at the end of your trip to see some of the beauty of Paris? Many moons ago I was a chaperone on a four-day school trip - we travelled around the city by metro and by foot - exhausting but the best way to see it all. We did take a bus tour around the different areas of Paris which the guide explained were shaped like a snail around the center of Paris. I had to laugh at that since they are known for escargot. :-). Our hotel was near the Eiffel Tower and walked around and dined in that area. But were warned about the gypsies and pick pockets. It was extremely crowded, but a bit cooler than Germany. Frankly, after all the walking tours we did we were grateful for the bus tour. We did get to go thru Notre Dame. So much history and beautiful buildings. It's a good thing we didn't have time for shopping in the fashion district. :-). You could spend two weeks just in the Louve.

Zed - it's just great. I commented somewhere else, can't remember where. Marilyn - we returned from the French alps last week and it was really hot and humid, but still wonderful. A cool off in the lake was very welcome.

Great picture Zed. and just because it doesn't look like a photo does not mean it is not good.

Alright Frances, NO NEED TO SHOUT!! Just kidding When you see all those proper artistic ones that look like fine art on Facebook, you can't help but feel a bit childish My sister really liked it, I sent her the photo and she said 'omg, that's fantastic' and asked if she could put it on facebook

Zed, the proper artistic felt pictures are great and I love to look at them, but I also like paintings like this one! And wouldn't it look good in felt? credit for image to this shop owner on Etsy link

Yes there are many kinds of art. Everyone thought the impressionists were terrible when the movement first started. I know at least two of the ones I see with fine art pictures are copying famous paintings. So yes, they have skill, but it's not their creation. I am quite inspired by one of the glass artists on face book.

Zed I couldn't tell the difference between the felt pic and the photo or crayoned one - both really effective and not childlike at all, well composed.
Maryilyn - that was hot and to think I mentioned a brolly!!! now if'd you'd travelled a little further to Scotland you would have needed a brolly, a jacket and a sunhat!!! glad you are home safe and had a good trip.
