Hello everyone ! I’m a French girl – so sorry for my schoolar english – who is experimenting felting with an embellisher. I like colors, textures and mixing techniques (as I also dye, spin, knit...). Recently I tried bigger pieces (jacket) and I really liked !!! I try to adapt “techniques” of wet felting to machine felting. Many ideas but not enough time... I liked the exchanges I could see on the forum (and the blog) so I’m glad to be with you right now. Well if you have any question...I’m going to have a look on the forum...

Bonjour, Aphee! I went to your blog and I love the vest. It does have pretty spring colors. I'm also amazed at how much 7th-grade French I remember! I also love your necklace - especially the butterfly in it, which I didn't notice until I saw you blog posts. I definitely look forward to seeing more photos of your work!

Thanks for your warm welcome ! (et merci pour ces petits mots de français) Indeed my necklace/collar is spinning (locks and felted items added on what is called a single) with very shiny fibers (kid mohair, silk, tencel, milk protein...). I will post the vest on the forum once I've written a kind of "step by step" in photos (and if I'm very courageous also in english). I used batts of vegetal an animal fibers mixed on my drum carder but I plan to try wool painting. luvswool and dyestuff : I live in Brittany, near Brest and Ouessant Island (I don't know if you heard about Ouessant (very little) sheep)

You live in such a beautiful part of France! I have not heard of the “petit Quessant,” but now I have a good reason to google them!

We were talking about Ouessant sheep not so long ago, one of our members lived in France and had a flock, very cute sheep.

Welcome, aphee. Lovely necklace. I believe we can learn from you. You are making some very interesting things with fibre. Love the fleece you got from your friend (but lots of work before you can start felting it).

Aphee do you have any idea what you'll make with the fleece? It's nice if your friend to gave it to you. Do you know what kind of sheep? I look forward to seeing your finished piece.

Thank a lot halay, indeed a lot of work. She gave me several fleeces so I haven't finished to wash them. Marylin it's Ouessant fleece (well in fact not pure race but it looks the same rustic). It's not as soft as merinos (for instance) so I use it mixed with softer fibers if I want to make clothes. For the moment I have knit a sweater with handpsun yarn (1/4 about is this fiber) After I wanna felt some fleece for a bag or a plaid to highlight the clear "locks"
