Hello Jill,
Your glitzy scarf is gorgeous.. Love the colors and the sparkle... I will have to search for Glitzy Mallard, may I ask where you bought it from? Thanks.

Lovely daily dose, Jill! But don’t stay away too long with your Jelly roll quilting. We would love to see more of your beautiful felting work.

Judy, It's from good old WorldofWool.
The scarf is from one of their 'glitzy' range. I don't have carders so I do like to buy their mixes of merino (mostly) - there are some lovely colourways in their 'constellation' & 'northern lights' ranges - I find if I use them for scarves etc I get nice very soft stripe or heather effects, & I can pull off the different shades if doing 'paintings'. Some of the mixes have silk, bamboo etc as well.
& I'm dying to try the 'custom blend' but fear that if I start I may never stop LOL! prices are great & I've always been pleased with delivery & service too.

Ha, I thought that about the custom blend tool, too, Jill, I decided it was cheaper in the long run to buy the drum carder I have bought their blends before, they're very nice.

The glitzy scarf is gorgeous Jill. I'm more into sewing at the moment and have a quilt top which just needs its last border, so getting that on, then quilting and binding is what I'll be doing. I want it done for summer. A quilt as you go project is on my list of things to make, it will be good to quilt small pieces, rather than fighting with a whole quilt on the machine! What are your jelly roll fabrics?

It's my 1st time with this method Judith, & it's great, I'm hooked! I bought the book 'Quilt-as-you-go Made Modern' as I stumbled across the 'Quilting in the rain' blog last year & really like her approach. I've realised I'm not really accurate, precise, clean & tidy or patient enough for traditional patchwork. But with this method there isn't need for accurate cutting, yeay!! & it grows fast, double yeay!! I really like the quilting part but on a domestic machine found it hard to do much especially on a bed-size quilt, so this is cool quilting a block at a time. I'm using a Moda Jelly Roll - called Wrens and Friends. I love Moda fabrics. Because I don't have access to any decent fabric shops (I live on a Greek island) I'm not very confident putting together fabric colours on an internet order, so this is easy. It's also a great cheat for cutting as most of the work is done for me My foster puppy has left to fly off to his new home today, so I will be sewing this afternoon

Good choice, have fun, I love the colour combo. Moda have some nice designs and the fabric is of good quality. Look forward to seeing the finished article. I joined Michele Foster's (free) 'Aiming for Accuracy' QAL a while ago, it really helped with my accuracy and I'm much more disciplined now - apart from being most untidy! She has another starting soon, but can't remember what it's called and I have too many UFOs to join.

Today I rearranged my office/library (garden & recipe books)/studio. I took out a chair, ottoman and chest and added my new 6 foot centerfold folding table. I got PVC pipes cut at the hardware store to raise the height to 39 inches. It is about at the bottom of my rib cage when I am standing – so no bending!!! I brought an old bar stool up from the basement which is the perfect height if I want to sit. I purchased a 6 foot runner with a nonskid backing which should keep drips of water off the floor when wet felting. The height allows for storage under the table. After rearranging everything and sweeping up the pound of rice I spilled I was to tired to felt. Top of table - nice nonporous hard surface Storage Under table Pipes on Legs and Bar Stool I will probably move the shelves with the pictures on them before I knock them down. feltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/ykzdcmpeadhnsp_3zcyx.jpgfeltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/zbxmxfgaq6dprr6ernwa.jpgfeltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/80k2zphsoiuhqa6b7poc.jpgHope all is well with everyone - not much activity on the site this week.

Organised or what? Nice workspace Frances. I was lying in bed this morning thinking how I need to tidy and organise my workroom. You've inspired me to make a start, though I know it will never be as tidy as yours! Thanks.

Wow, that is tidy! I had someone coming round yesterday because we're getting a new kitchen, so I was forced to tidy up

Frances - that's amazing! Is that a pebble rubbing board you're making there? Rather than move the shelves, how about moving just the pictures somewhere else and using the shelves for some of your felting gear? I got cheesed off with 'waterfalls' from my felting table, so I either make sure I have plenty of old towels on the table (like a thick tablecloth) or I use a plastic tray. You can get them in many sizes and the largest I have is actually a liner for an extra-large dog cage. It's also useful to make a drying rack, with a bamboo mat, if you tackle a large project.

Lucky you, Frances. You have your own working space. These are just my dreams. I still occupy my kitchen counter or our dining room table that is only when my husband is in a proper mood
