This was done on black pre-felt using BFL , silk, art yarn with gold metal fibers, duck down (really!) and rhinestones.

This one is about 20'x 14"on green pre-felt. I used some multi-colored art yarn with metallic sparkle and duck feathers around the large feather "eye". I later added a small bunch of real peacock feathers to the upper left quadrant. Wish I had oriented it 90 degrees. I am such a literalist that I layed it out in the same direction as the original kids notebook cover. Lesson learned, I hope

Really nice work! Especially love the peacock design! Felting in feathers is not easy, but I'm a wet felter! Perhaps it's different with needle felting??

I love the feel of the galaxy piece, the rhinestones are just right. And the colors on the peacock piece are gorgeous.

These are cool. I've never tried felting with feathers or duck down. Would you mind explaining your process with the feathers?

The duck down (muscovy) felted in (the more distant galaxy in the upper left corner of the piece) with just a light touch of a 42 star needle. The duck feathers on the peacock piece I first just poked into position, then a dot of glue to hold them in place.

Lovely stuff... I haven't ever used feathers before... I can see how they would go in nicely though... Love them both.
