I was wandering around Etsy yesterday, and found myself in Zauberzeug's shop. She has some amazing fibre for sale. Mostly it is cool because it glows under black light. One of the things she has is Ultrafine Stainless Steel fibre: www.etsy.com/listing/99666020/ultrafine-stainless-steel-fiber?ref=shop_home_activeYou can blend it with other fibres, spin it or felt it. It's real metal. and therefore conductive. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has ever worked with it before. If you were really techy, you could felt a piece and hook it up to some LED lights or something It is very tempting to buy some just to see what it's like.

I have't tried it either. My first thought was that it would slice my fingers up when I was rubbing the surface of the felt. But I guess that wouldn't happen if people use it for spinning.
Conductive felt has some interesting possibilities, not that I'm the techy sort but you do see all kinds of hand crafted conductive products on the web these days.

Interesting, I wonder how much you would need to make a fabric conductive.

I bought some of those conductive gloves for my son. I must say I was sceptical, but they do work! I don't know how much steel is in the fibre but you could try just enough for a finger stall and see how it works.

I would bet it goes a long way. I don't think you would need that much to make it conductive.

I would probably zap myself if I tried to run power through it.
