Good Morning, I'm Billieanne from Pennsylvania on the east coast of the US. I saw a felted pot/bowl a few weeks ago on another forum, by Rosiepink. I think I saw her on this forum. Fell in love with her bowl and started searching online for felting information plus read Rosiepink's web site. Found a teacher near me and made a felted soap (2 actually) and a scarf. I signed up for another class next week. Now I'm shopping for supplies and trying to find time to practice more. Haven't had a chance to read the whole forum, just found you last night but I'm looking for a book(s) on felting. I also do metalwork, jewelry, enameling, card making (new to this also), hypertufa and show old cars. Thanks for creating this site.

Hello Billieanne and welcome to this very friendly forum. I think you're doing the best thing by combining learning through reading and learning by being shown. Every time you make felt you will learn something new and gradually you will get an instinctive feel for what works and what doesn't. Every felter has her own way of doing things that works for her - watch and learn then decide what's best for you and do it your own way.

Hi Billianne Welcome to the forum The most comprehensive book on all kinds of felting that you'll ever find is The Complete Photo Guide to Felting by Ruth (Lane) It has everything in it, and is really very inexpensive, especially compared to other books which just show a few projects. The photos are REALLY clear too, no arty farty blurry shots which show nothing but pretty colours. Can I recommend World of Wool for very cheap supplies. They are in the UK, but they are the cheapest suppliers of all kinds of felting fibres and wool. So cheap that even if you just bought one item and paid the full postage, it's still cheaper than most other places. They have prices in US$ too. www.worldofwool.co.uk/I'm looking forward to seeing what you've made
