Hello everyone. My name is Terri and I joined this forum to learn new felting techniques and to admire other artists/crafters' works. I do felt paintings and sculpture using wet and needle-felting as well as machine embroidery to embellish. I also re-purpose wool sweaters, etc. into things....pillows, purses, hats, whatever. I have not sold any of my creations -- everything I make, I have been giving away (for a couple years now). Responses to my work, however, are encouraging and I plan to open an Etsy shop one of these days and see where it takes me. Currently, I am making all the flowers (wet felt) for my daughter's wedding in October (7 bridesmaids, the bride, the groom / groom's men and maybe even the mothers, grandmothers, etc.). Lordy. I don't have time to open an Etsy shop yet! I learned how to felt by reading books on the subject and diving in. The more I experiment, the better I get and have learned what I like, what "works" etc. One thing I know, I feel "rich" when I see and touch all my lovely wool! I definitely love fibers. Looking forward to being a part of this community. ~Terri

Welcome, look forward to seeing those wedding flowers. You've obviously got the same fibre bug we're all infected with. Isn't it wonderful?

Hello Judith - thank you for the welcome! I am just starting on the flowers and still experimenting but will post pics when I get an armful made. I have a couple of Flickr accounts (www.flickr.com) with some of my other efforts using the name, "Smiling Lamb" (which is what I plan to name my Etsy Shop someday) The other Flickr account is under the name "meterrilee" which also includes pics of some fairy houses I made as well as some felted items (and my dachshunds!). :-) They are very supportive of my felt addiction.

Hello Terri and welcome. That's quite an undertaking to make all the wedding flowers! You're very brave. I'm looking forward to seeing the photos.
