Had company today, plus I have been baby sitting Dewey the Cockatiel for a few days. What a needy bird! But I did manage to pull out some air dry clay and push it into some molds. I also bought some crinkle cutters in geometic shapes to use. They look like little cookie cutters. The commercial clay is superior to the bread dough clay I made. It is smooth and has more body. I have been cooped up in this house because of ice storms. Tomorrow, I will go to the craft stores for new inspiration.

I finally got my mojo working last week. Got the dye pot going. Wednesday was a real 'Barbara Cartland' day - A Rhapsody in Pink! Pink cotton scrim, pink mulberry bark, pink silk voile, pink tussah fibre, pink silk hankies and pink fingers! Next day was my 'Purple Patch' with similar fibres. Wore the gloves without the hole this time! Then yesterday, A Plethora of Primrose. I now have lovely piles of fibre just crying out for soap, water and some rough treatment! Woo hoo!

I think that the washout is the best part of dyeing. It is the final result. I made a wild dash out to get my errands done before the next big wave of ice and snow hit the middle of the country. Hopefully, we will only get the edge of this storm. After all the ice last week, I am so ready for Spring. I did manage to put a basecoat of acrylic paint on all my clay elements this afternoon, but not much else.

Does going to a day long planning meeting for the weavings and spinning conference in may count? The pot luck lunch was good. I haven't manage much time on my new boots. life keeps interfering. Judy your area really does seem to be getting pounded this last while. It is supposed to get to us Wednesday and Thursday but it may be rail if it stays warm. It most dangerous when it hovers near 0c that's when you get the ice storms.
