I am not going to pretend that I understood how you made a oil burner, Lyn, but it really is beautiful. I don't recall everything that is on my "Projects of Interest" page on my blog. I guess I will take a look and see what all I have on there.
I spent the night with the Visual Artists Alliance at the winter show. They are really accomplished artists and I felt just a little out of place, but I got so many favorable comments from them that I was glad I joined. Today, I went to my quilt guild art quilt group. I was pretty much bored out of my skull. We spent the morning making paper snowflakes to study design. That is just not my thing. I just wanted to throw them all up in the air and enjoy the snowfall.

Oh Judy - I would love to have seen you throw the snowflakes in the air!
Judith - the inner and outer pots were made separately. If you want to make a vessel that is only fused in parts, put thin resists wherever you don't want fusing to occur. When the felting is finished, you will see where the resists are and they are easily cut out to make your design.
To make a vessel that is fused at the bottom and top but two separate layers in the middle, put a complete band of thin plastic resist on half way through the process.

Heading into the studio for my Daily Dose. However, my computer seems to be crashing and I don't know what tomorrow will bring. If you don't see me on here for a while, just be assured that I am still working and will catch up with you all later.

Today I spent two hours fusing sheer fabrics onto a cotton panel and then machining over it. Sort of an abstract seascape. I'm not going to say that I failed in the attempt because that's negative. I succeeded in finding a way that didn't work so that next time I can do something different.
Doh! Still frustrating though, whichever way you look at it!

Sorry it didn't come out the way you wanted Lyn. It is frustrating to spend that much time and not get the result you wanted.
I finished another applique sample and started on my bead book binding.

I have updated my progress with "Snickers" on my blog page, if you are interested. I still have computer issues and my husband wants to take it into the shop. I do not want to put money into a 3 year old laptop, but he is bigger than I am and I guess I have no say. So, here is the link. judysfiberart.blogspot.com/p/projects-of-interest.html Yes, I am grumpy.

Really looking forward to following your progress on the boots Ann.
Sympathy with the computer thing Judy - they're great when they're working and very, very frustrating when they're not. Snickers ear 'oles are looking good.

great post Judy. I should be trying some of the show dying. I do the low water dying wehr you scrunch into a small space and then pour the dye over it.

Ann - I keep thinking I'll try snow dyeing but never seem to get around to doing it. Perhaps I'll have time before I go back to my class as my homework is nearing completion.

Thanks for keeping us updated on Snickers, Judy I'm not surprised you don't want to waste money on repairs, they seem to cost as much as a new computer these days.

Wow you ladies have been working really hard while i've been gone havent you. Your projects look amazing, I've had only 1 day over the last 3-4 weeks to do anything ( we've had a house full and lots of visitors) so i did get in some beading on a book cover that i gave as a gift to a friend, she loved it but thats all i've managed to accomplish . Back to some normalcy now so hopefully i can get stuck in and catch up
