Thanks guys for your lovely comments MT Ruth - the eyes are glass beads Shepherdess - yes he's wearing a backpack. There's a little felted fish in it. The story is that his mum and dad have gone on a fishing trip and they've been gone a long time. They've given him a fish to put in his backpack in case he gets really hungry while they're gone Lol!

I write stories into everything I make. I sometimes put it on the back of the piece. It is a narrative of my thoughts as I was creating it.

It's wonderful that there are little stories to go with the animals. That makes them even better! Thank you! I'm following your blog now too. Your work is amazing too! But I don't think the heron looks like a goose! Not at all! it definitely looks like a heron to me. And a brilliant one at that!
