I am doing a short class for valentines day. A heart basket/bag. Just small, maybe 6 inches across. I can't decide on the handles. at first i thought a flat handle made as part of the heart. Then thought maybe a round "snake" handle attached form the start. Now i am thinking about making a snake handle added after through holes as being the easiest for students in a short class. I need to make a sample so the is a picture for the class.
What would you suggest?

I think a rope handle (one) attached crossways?

Snake handle added after through holes would be easiest for beginners.
If time is an issue and if the handle doesn't have to be felted, you could use craft wire or sturdy yarn threaded with glass/plastic beads.

I agree with Lyn. A snake handle with knotted ends through holes in the bag would be simplest if it is to be a felt handle. A rope handle with knotted ends would work too possibly. I like Lyn's suggestion of wire or yarn threaded with beads too.

Thanks, ladies. The hearts and ropes are drying. I thought maybe some ribbon would work too if they don't like the felt handles.

If time is a factor, you could make the handles ahead of time for them, and give a brief in class tutorial on how they are made. The participants could use the premade handles and learn how to attach them.
