I found myself with a small amount of free time in my mother’s well-stocked and super-organised craft area last week. I had a play with some ‘hot fix’ fusible Angelina fibres. Firstly just ironing bits together to make fabric and then ironing bits onto rubber stamps. I wanted to try felting the fabric so when I got back to my studio I made a sample vessel to see what happened. I’m mulling over making a vase cover on the theme of ‘ice’ (as a companion to the ‘fire’ one I posted recently) which is why I went for a vessel rather than a flat piece. www.ipernity.com/doc/2373440/48210272www.ipernity.com/doc/2373440/48210274It’s difficult to photograph with my phone camera but I hope this gives an idea. I’m pleased with the effect, particularly the thinner bits of fabric (second picture) which sit flatter into the felt. As for the stamps - I’ll take & post some photos later today.

Your camera picked up the angelina wonderfully! It certainly represents ice - go for it!

Angelina is perfect for ice especially that color.

These would look great over a contrasting piece of felt on cards. Pretty simple to make too if you use scraps of leftover felt.

Beautiful ice and stamps Lindsay. How will you use the stamps?

Thanks all.
Marilyn - I may just stick them on some card to make greetings cards but I will have a go at wet felting some to see how the fabric and loose strands react.

Angelina is interesting stuff. I used the fusible kind for dragon fly wings years ago. It looks cool( or should I say icy) on the vessel. I really like how it looks embossed by using the stamps. I can't wait to see how you use them on the cards.

Your angelina stamped pieces look fab and gives your vessel the icy coolness of winter. Looking forward to seeing how the stamped pieces wet Felt.

That's so weird, I was having a look for something the other day and found some butterflies I made with fusible film ironed onto rubber stamps, I took them with me to the well being centre, but had two new members so couldn't try them with felt!
The Angelina on the vessel looks great, and I agree with Ruth about the stamped ones with felt on cards.

Let us know if you try felting the butterflies - I’d be interested to see what happens.
